Latios (Japanese: ラティオス Latios) is a Dragon/Psychic-type Pokémon.
Latios does not evolve into anything nor from anything.
Latios's signature move is Luster Purge.
Biology
Physiology
Latios has mostly the same body shape as Latias, but with a larger build. His lower body is blue instead of red and features the same triangle-shaped marking that Latias has (although, Latias's is red instead of blue). The rest of Latios's body is gray instead of white. Latios has flatter ears and narrower eyes than Latias. The gray spot in the middle of Latios's blue face is shaped like a tear-drop.
Gender differences
Latios is a male-only species. For its female counterpart, see: Latias.
Special abilities
Latios comes with the ability Levitate, which causes Ground-type moves to miss.
Latios is able to fold in its arms and fly at the speed of a jet. It can make foes see images it has seen or what it imagines in its head. It can understand human speech. Even if it is hiding, Latios can detect the locations and emotions of others using telepathy.
Latios skills in battle are the same as Latias, except that its stats are catered to sweeping while Latias's strength lie in tanking. Latios is capable of using Dragon Dance and Memento as opposed to Latias's ability to learn Charm and Healing Wish. Latios's signature move is Luster Purge.
Behavior
Latios has a docile temperament and dislikes fighting. It will open its heart if it finds a trainer with a compassionate spirit.

In the anime
Latios has only appeared in Pokémon Heroes. Annie and Oakley captured Latios and used him to power the DMA along with the stolen Soul Dew. Latios ended up sacrificing himself to save Alto Mare from an enormous tidal wave.
In the manga
Latios, along with Latias, was befriended by Emerald, and took the young Trainer to the Battle Frontier. He later helped Todd watch the events going on on top of the Battle Pyramid.

Trivia
Origin
Latios appears to be a cross between a jet plane and a dragon, although it and Latias may also draw inspiration from the philosophy of Yin/Yang and psychology of id/ego.
Name origin
It is possible that Latios's name is based on the Latin word lateo, hidden. The -os suffix in its name indicates that it is male, while the -as in Latias indicates that it is female.
