Coronium (コロニウム Koroniumu), also known as Coro due to the character limit from Generation III to Generation V, is a Pokémon Trainer in all core series games since Generation III except Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!.

In the core series

Despite having little interest in competitive Pokémon battling, Coronium enjoys breeding and training Pokémon and tailoring move sets that bring out their individual potential. He prefers straightforward, all-out offensive strategies using items such as the Choice items or the Life Orb, or stat-raising moves such as Dragon Dance or Swords Dance. He believes the latter are especially important in helping Pokémon with weaker offensive base stats utilize a faster, more aggressive strategy than a slower, more passive one. Examples include using Mandibuzz with Nasty Plot or Toxapex with Venoshock. He also enjoys employing "niche" strategies such as Sunny Day and Solar Beam, or Substitute and Focus Punch, but dislikes using them if they take too long. He also dislikes other time-consuming strategies such as Toxic and Protect, or Stealth Rock and Roar, and finds them convoluted.
