Information
The V Battle Deck product line was incorporated into special expansion-related merchandise for the first time with the release of Pokémon GO. The Pokémon GO Mewtwo V Battle Deck focuses on the Legendary Genetic Pokémon Mewtwo and comes with an array of supporting Psychic and Colorless-type Pokémon, while the Pokémon GO Melmetal V Battle Deck features Metal and Colorless types alongside the Legendary Hex Nut Pokémon Melmetal. The two focal Pokémon are depicted on Pokémon V cards that have different artwork to like prints found in the Pokémon GO expansion. Both decks include supporting Energy cards and a selection of Trainer cards sourced from several Sword & Shield Series expansions. The V Battle Decks could be purchased individually or as a combined Pokémon GO V Battle Deck—Mewtwo vs. Melmetal kit.
Each 60-card deck comes packaged with a deck box, damage counters, a single-player playmat, a rules booklet, a strategy sheet, three reference cards, an extra-large-sized coin, and a code card for the Pokémon TCG Live. In addition, the combined kit includes two booster packs, a deck upgrade guide, a sticker sheet, and a sealed pack containing eleven Trainer cards and another Pokémon TCG Live code card. Individual decks contain a sheet listing three codes, while the kit includes a sheet listing eight codes.
The Mewtwo V Battle Deck contains two exclusive Non Holofoil prints of Chilling Reign Hatterene and re-releases of Non Holofoil Shining Fates Indeedee (×2) from the Venusaur V Battle Deck and V Battle Deck—Venusaur vs. Blastoise. The Melmetal V Battle Deck contains two exclusive Non Holofoil prints of Vivid Voltage Magearna and re-releases of Non Holofoil Chilling Reign Cobalion (×3) from the Corviknight V Battle Deck and V Battle Deck—Lycanroc vs. Corviknight. The combined kit includes three exclusive Line Holofoil prints of SWSH Black Star Promo Professor's Research depicting Professor Willow. The Professor's Research cards also feature a Pokémon GO logo stamp and lack the redemption code box present on the original print.
