A Skier (Japanese: スキーヤー Skier) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation II games. They look like young women (and, in Sinnoh, young men) dressed in winter clothing and on skis.

At first, they appeared to be the female counterparts of Boarders. However, in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, they appeared in both genders as Skiers. The male Skier looks similar to a Boarder in outfit design. Male skiers also made a return in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

In Generation II, these Trainers are only seen in the Mahogany Gym; in HeartGold and SoulSilver, an additional Skier can be found in the Seafoam Islands. In Sinnoh, they are found on Routes 216 and 217.

They mainly specialize in Ice-type Pokémon, although in Diamond and Pearl (and their remakes), they also use Pokémon of other types.

A Skier appeared in Disagreeable Graveler, where he noticed Platinum skiing through Route 216. He wanted to help her out, but she declined, claiming that she could do it on her own. As Platinum almost crashed into him twice, he gave up.

Skier's Abra

Abra is the Skier's only known Pokémon. It is usually seen sitting on his head. When Platinum was about to crash into him, he had Abra teleport her away, and did so again when Platinum was about to crash into him again.

Abra's only known move is Teleport.
