The Resort Area is a small, town-like area on the northeastern island of Sinnoh. This area is home to the Ribbon Syndicate, and there is no Poké Mart here nor is there any substitute. This is probably due to the fact that Poké Marts focus on typical Pokémon battling and therefore has little/no custom in a place which centers around Coordinators and contests.
In Pokémon Platinum, when the player reaches the Resort Area, he/she will be shown into a house. This will become the player's house or Secret Base. Occasionally, it will be visited by major characters like the Gym Leaders, the player's rival, Professor Rowan , his assistant and the player's mom.
Demographics
The population of Resort Area is 11, excluding the Ribbon Syndicate, in which case it would be 19.
Name origin
The name may refer to the fact that this area is very peaceful, as well as the fact that the Ribbon Syndicate, into which only very good Coordinators can enter, is located here.
