Ice Beam (Japanese: れいとうビーム Freezing Beam) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Generation I
Ice Beam inflicts damage and has a 9.8% chance of freezing the target. Ice Beam can't freeze an target that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
Generation II and on
The effects of Ice Beam are the same as the previous generation, however, it has a 10% chance of freezing the target.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, it fires in a straight line for 10 tiles.

Shellder. Shellder launches bluish-white beams from its horns.
- Used by Jessie's Shellder in The Evolution Solution.
Glalie. A bluish-white ball forms between Glalie's two horns. A beam then shoots out of it and hits the opponent.
- Used by Ash's Glalie from Rhapsody in Drew! to present.
Articuno. A blue ball of light forms in front of Articuno's mouth. Light blue beams are then released out of its mouth.
- Used by Noland's Articuno from Numero Uno Articuno to The Symbol Life.
Squirtle. A light blue ball forms in front of Squirtle's mouth. Light blue beams are then released out of its mouth.
- Used by May's Squirtle in A Hurdle for Squirtle.
Buneary. A light blue ball forms in front of Buneary's mouth. Light blue beams are then released out of its mouth.
- Used by Dawn's Buneary from Setting the World on its Buneary to present.
Seel. A light blue ball forms in front of Seel's mouth. Light blue beams are then released out of its mouth.
- Used by an unknown trainer's Seel in Once More With Reeling.
Feebas. A light blue ball forms in front of Feebas' mouth. Light blue beams are then released out of its mouth.
- Used by Haley's Feebas in Ya See We Want an Evolution!.
Glaceon. A light blue ball forms in front of Glaceon's mouth. Light blue beams are then released out of its mouth.

- Unlike the other two variations of Flamethrower, Ice Beam only has 10PP.
- As of Generation IV, every Template:Type2, with the exception of Magikarp, can learn Ice Beam.
