The Seabreak Path (Japanese: うみわれのみち Seabreak Path) is an extension of Route 224. It can only be accessed if the player has Oak's Letter. If the player comes to the white rock at the edge of the route with this item, Professor Oak will be there. The whole area will then burst into bloom and the Seabreak Path will have appeared. Shaymin will come down the path, then run back up. Following the path leads the player to the Flower Paradise, where Shaymin can be battled.
Geography
Seabreak Path is giant path that leads to the beautiful Flower Paradise, splitting the Sinnoh region and the eastern ocean apart. Once the area is unlocked by the white rock and Shaymin, different colored flowers spring to live covering the path and areas around it with beautiful flowers. No inch of the area is not covered over by the different colored plants. The Seabreak Path, itself is the longest road in the Pokémon world, extending from Sinnoh's mainland to the Battle Zone. The thin strip of land is surrounded by ocean on the eastern and western side creating a long strip of land, all the way up to Flower Paradise, located even further north than Stark Mountain. This is only a one way path, that has a dead end. The player must retrace their steps to get back to where they began, on Route 224.
Trivia
- Seabreak Path is the longest area not only in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, but in any main series game so far. With an area of 8192 square units, it would be impossible for a game from Generation III or before to support this path without dividing it into several segments. Because of this length, it is a good location to hatch eggs.
Name origin
Seabreak Path is so named because it breaks the sea between the Sinnoh region and the open ocean that lies to the east.
