Ice Beam (Japanese: れいとうビーム Freezing Beam) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Generation I
Ice Beam inflicts damage and has a 9.8% chance of freezing the target. Ice Beam can't freeze an target that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
Generation II and on
The effects of Ice Beam are the same as the previous generation, however, it has a 10% chance of freezing the target.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, it fires in a straight line for 10 tiles.
