Challenge (HOME)

Challenges are missions for the player to complete in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME.

Each challenge requires the player to store specific Pokémon in Pokémon HOME. Similar to Research Tasks, the Pokémon needs to have the correct game of origin and some of the challenges require trading. Completing a challenge grants the player a cover art or sticker to decorate their notebook with.

As of version 3.1.2 of Pokémon HOME, there are a total of 424 Challenges available, some of which are divided into bronze, silver, and gold levels.

• With the 2.0 update, all the Pokémon HOME's challenges that reward a sticker with the cover artwork of specific versions went through a wording change. The region of origin was changed to the version title instead. For example, “Register Zamazenta from the Galar Region!” was changed to “Register Zamazenta from Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield!”.
  • This helped clarifying some of the ambiguities such as “Register Eevee from the Kanto Region!”, which requires an Eevee from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! or Let's Go, Eevee!, and not Pokémon FireRed or Pokémon LeafGreen.
  • An exception to this change is the Virtual Console exclusive titles, which remained "[...] from the good ol' Kanto region!" or "[...] from the good ol' Johto region!".

• The challenges “Register Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma from Alola!” and “Register Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, and Lunala from Alola!” have their description changed to “Register Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma from the Alola region!” and “Register Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, and Lunala from the Alola region!” respectively when the details are expanded in the “Challenge Rewards” view.
  • The challenge "Have a Room Trade with 20 people in it!" has its description changed to "Host a Room Trade with 20 people in it!" when the details are expanded. This is a bug as the challenge does not require hosting the 20-person room trade.

• Notably, the sticker for “Register Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma from the Alola region!” depicts a scene from the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon versions, Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma, despite the challenge being described with a general "Alola region".

• The challenge "Deposit a Pokémon that has the Mightiest Mark!" is the only one to use Tier 1 but no other tiers, as opposed to being an untiered challenge. This results in it appearing as bronze instead of chrome.

• The challenges "Move Pokémon from Pokémon Bank!", "Register Diancie from Pokémon X or Pokémon Y!", "Register Eevee brought over using Poké Transporter!", "Register Litwick brought over using Poké Transporter!", and "Register Pulverizing Snorlax" have become hidden. They will still appear if completed, however.
