(Japanese: テッシード Tesshido) is a dual-type Grass/Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Nattorei starting at level 40.
Biology
Physiology
Tesshido looks very similar to a durian, both are spherical and both have many thorns around they body that serves as a protecion mechanism. Also, both are "plants".
However, the most notorious difference between they is that Tesshido not only have eyes, also it have a metalic body with bonds-like stripes. Tesshido's eyes are red an looks a little intimidating.
Tesshido have access to moves that icreases it defenses, like Curse and Iron Defense and supporting moves like Ingran, Leech Seed, Spikes and Stealth Rock.
Also, Tesshido's spherical shape give it access to moves like Gyro Ball and Rollout.

Origin
Tesshido may be based on durians or conkers, seeds from horse-chetnut trees. Both of which are known for their tough skin and thorns.
Also, Tesshido may be based on a mace, a type of medieval weapon.
Name origin
Its name is likely a combination of 鉄 tetsu, iron, and シード shīdo, seed.
