Togepi (Japanese: トゲピー Togepy) is a Normal-type Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Togepi is a small, light yellow Pokémon with a round body that's covered in a white egg shell that has red and blue rings on it. Togepi has stubby hands and round feet with two toes each. Togepi has black eyes and five spikes on its "head".

In the anime
In Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon, Ash finds a Pokémon egg. It hatches into a Togepi in Who Gets to Keep Togepi?, and since Misty is the first thing the baby Pokémon sees, it believes Misty is its mother. It evolved and left Misty in A Togepi Mirage!.
At the end of A Togepi Mirage!, Princess Sara found the Togepi of Legend, and Misty left her Togepi in the Mirage Kingdom.
In the manga
Gold recives an egg from Jasmine's Togetics, which eventually hatched into a Togepi.
In the TCG
Other appearances
When released from a Pokéball, Togepi will use Metronome which will trigger Night Shade, Magnitude, Sing or Leech Seed.

Origin
Togepi appears to be based on the concept of a baby hatchling of any of a number of species of animals. It could also just be intended to be an egg, to match its evolved form, Togetic, which is chicken-like.
Name origin
The toge in Togepi's name is 刺, spike.
