Glaceon (Japanese: グレイシア Glacia) is an Ice-type Pokémon.
It evolves from Eevee when it is leveled up near an Ice Rock, which are found on Route 217 in Pokemon Platinum, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions and on Twist Mountain in Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black and White Versions 2.
It is one of Eevee's final forms, the others being Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Sylveon.
Biology
Physiology
Glaceon is a fox-like creature covered in light-blue fur, which can be frozen into sharp quills. It appears to be wearing a tuque on its head. Glaceon's inner ears, two spots on its back, tail end and cap-endings are all rhombus-shaped and darker blue, in contrast to the soft cyan main body color. Glaceon also has a similar shape on its back. Glaceon's feet are also a dark blue color, giving it the impression of wearing boots.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Glaceon can use any attack that Eevee knows with the addition of Ice-type attacks. As a fully evolved Pokémon, Glaceon can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. In addition to that, it can also freeze its fur to make it stand up like needles - similar to its evolutionary kin, Jolteon. By controlling its body heat, it can also freeze the atmosphere around it to make a diamond-dust flurry.
Behavior
The behaviors of Glaceon are currently unknown.
Habitat
As an Eevee, it chooses to live anywhere it wants. From there, it can evolve to its surroundings. In this case, an Eevee living in snowy mountains can evolve into a Glaceon.

Trivia
- Glaceon's Japanese name is the same as the English name of a member of the Hoenn Elite Four.
- Glaceon's name is an anagram of the word congeal (freeze). It's unknown if this is made on purpose or coincidence.
- Glaceon is tied with Jolteon for the shortest Eeveelution.
- Glaceon and Espeon are the only Eeveelutions that share the same highest base stat: Special Attack. However, Espeon has a higher Speed stat while Glaceon has a higher Defense stat.
- Glaceon is the only Eeveelution to not have an Ability related to non-volatile status ailments.
- Glaceon also has the highest Special Attack stat of any pure Ice-type Pokémon and non-legendary Ice-type Pokémon.
- According to the Diamond and Pearl Pokédex, Glaceon, Leafeon, and Umbreon have identical footprints.
- As Route 217 is not accessible in HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, it is impossible to access the Ice Rock to evolve Eevee into a Glaceon in the games. The same applies for Leafeon, though instead of Route 217 it is the Eterna Forest with the Moss Rock. Both have to be traded from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions to be obtained. It is also inaccessible in Black and White Versions; however, players can now evolve Leafeon and Glaceon by leveling up next to the Moss Rock in Pinwheel Forest and the Ice Rock in Twist Mountain, respectively.
- Despite Eevee being obtainable before the Pokémon League in Pokémon Black and White Versions 2, it can not evolve into Glaceon until after the Elite Four is defeated. The same applies with Leafeon.
- Glaceon shares the same species name with Vanillite, both being the "Fresh Snow" Pokémon.
Origin
Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics of foxes, dogs and cats. It is more closely based on an Arctic fox, due to their habitat. However, its large ears are similar to a fennec fox.
Name origin
Glaceon is a combination of glace (French for ice) or glacier (a large, slow moving mass of ice on land) and eon (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). Eon is a suffix all Eevee evolutions share and was Eevee's English prototype name.
Glacia may derive from glace (French for ice), glacier (a large, slow moving mass of ice on land), or grace (as in graceful).
