Hoopa (Japanese: フーパ Hoopa) is a dual-type Psychic/Ghost Legendary Pokémon.
While it is not known to evolve to or from any other Pokémon, it can change its form from Hoopa Confined to Hoopa Unbound and vice versa using a Prison Bottle. If the Prison Bottle was used, Hoopa will revert back into its Confined forme after three days or if deposited to the PC.
- If the Prison Bottle is not used it is in Confined Forme and is Psychic/Ghost.
- If the Prison Bottle is used it is in Unbound Forme and is Psychic/Dark.
Biology
Hoopa Confined is a mainly light purple Pokémon with pink "hair", v-shaped stripe on the chest and back, lower body, and bands on its wrists. Its shoulders and arms end with similar golden spikes. It has two gray horns adorned with a free-hanging golden ring on each horn located on either side of its head. Its "hair" has a ponytail-like structure. Its eyes' sclera are yellow, its irises are green, and the pupils white. It has a ring-like marking on its forehead and "rosy cheeks". A golden ring circles its waist. Its lower body comprises of nothing but a structure similar to its hair's ponytail. Its hands are similar to mittens.
Hoopa Unbound retains the other forme's color scheme, albeit with turquoise instead of purple, and becomes bipedal. It grows a larger ponytail, body and horns; a solid pointed jaw, four more arms, legs, a tail, and a large portal-like hole on its torso. Its face gains a dark grey pointed "nose" area. It has many pointed teeth, two of which extend from its mouth out to the forehead. Its eyes sclera is now white, with yellow irises and black pupils. The hole in its torso is surrounded by six tufts of hair, tipped with smaller "portals," in which it can port its arms. Its legs and tail are lined with an elongated pink protrusion. Two gold rings circle its wrists and knees. The feet are ended with one gold toe each. Its tail is ended with a pink triangle connected to the protrusion.
Hoopa has the power to transport things using teleportation, which warps space.

Origin

Hoopa's Unbound forme may also have been inspired from djinns, with its six arms may have been drawn from Buddha of Buddhism. Its tail may also have qualities of the common depictions of demons.
Name origin
Hoopa could be a wordplay with hoop, referring to the rings that adorn its body.
