Ballonlea Stadium (Japanese: アラベスクスタジアム Arabesque Stadium) is the official Stadium of Ballonlea. The Gym specializes in Fairy-type Pokémon. The Gym Leader the player fights during their Gym Challenge is Opal, who rewards them with the Fairy Badge if they succeed.

After the player becomes Champion, Bede, who was chosen by Opal to succeed her as Gym Leader, takes her place.

In the games

Ballonlea Stadium is the largest building in the town and is the site at which the fifth instalment in the Galar region’s Gym Challenge takes place. It is located at the northernmost part of the town, across a wooden bridge crossing a small lake. Its exterior is primarily grey in color, with purple accents to signify the Fairy type and Gym Leader Opal’s favorite color. As with every Stadium in the region, the Ballonlea Stadium contains a Poké Mart and a uniform shop.

There is a young girl dressed in an Eevee costume located next to the uniform shop who will trade the player a standard form Yamask in return for a Galarian Yamask. The Ball Guy in Ballonlea Stadium gives the player a Love Ball.

Gym Mission

The Ballonlea Gym Mission is based on the premise that Gym Leader Opal is searching for a person to take her place as the Gym Leader so she can retire. In order for Opal to select a preferred candidate, challengers are made to undertake an examination as their Gym Mission. The mission consists of thee trainer battles, during each of which the player is asked a question with two possible answers. Answering correctly results in a boost to some of the stats of the player’s Pokémon, whereas answering incorrectly results in a stat reduction. The correct answers are:

• Poison type or Steel type
• Annette
• Omelets

During the battle against Gym Leader Opal, the player may also be asked up to three questions, which will again result in either positive or negative stat changes to the player’s Pokémon depending on the answer selected. A man standing in the Ballonlea Stadium lobby tells the player the correct answers to Opal’s three questions, which are:

• The wizard
• Purple
• 16 years old

The player earns the Fairy Badge after beating Opal in battle, which enables the player to catch wild Pokémon up to Level 45.

Pokémon

A young girl wearing an Eevee costume next to the uniform shop in the Ballonlea Stadium lobby will trade the player a standard form Yamask nicknamed “Masky” in return for a Galarian Yamask.
