From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Indeedee (Japanese: イエッサン Yessan) is a dual-type Psychic/Normal Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Biology
Indeedee is a dark purple and white bipedal Pokémon that differs in appearance depending on their gender. Both forms have white faces, rounded heads and pear-shaped bodies and white hands and feet with three digits on each of them. The males have upward turned spiral horns, blue markings in-between its eyes, a generally more navy body and more white around the legs. Females have downward turned spiral horns, pink markings above its eyes, a more white body and darker legs. These markings all give them the appearances of butlers and maids.
These Pokémon willingly serve people and other Pokémon, as they derive energy from feelings of gratitude. They sense emotions by touching their horns to determine other's needs and serve them better. Males are skilled at being valets while the females are supposed to be excellent babysitters. Indeedee is always bustling around, searching and serving those with happy feelings. The Indeedee never leaves its Trainer's side. It uses its psychic power to predict their Trainer's actions and take care of every day needs. Indeedee dislikes conflict and will throw things at anyone who disturbs its territory using its psychic powers.
Male and female Indeedee differ by moves they learn.

Trivia
- Indeedee shares its category with Kirlia and Mesprit. They are all known as the Emotion Pokémon.
- Indeedee is the only Pokémon to have different Egg moves depending on gender.
- Indeedee shares several similarities with Meowstic. Both are Psychic-type Pokémon with gender differences and have different movesets and Pokédex entries depending on their gender. Male Indeedee and Meowstic are exclusive to Sword, while female Indeedee and Meowstic are exclusive to Shield. However, both gender forms of Indeedee can be obtained by breeding, while both gender forms of Meowstic can be obtained by evolving Espurr of the appropriate gender.
- Both forms of Indeedee were designed by Saya Tsuruta.[1]
Origin
Indeedee may be based on Lares, the household deities in ancient Roman religion, said to protect the house in exchange for worship and gratitude. Lares are commonly depicted in pairs and holding rhyta, horn-like containers that often depict Satyrs, half-goat creatures from Greek Mythology. It may also draw inspiration from brownies, the household spirits from British folklore said to come out at night to perform domestic and farming tasks. Their gender-specific motifs may also be based on housekeepers, with its male form having traits of a butler and its female form having traits of a maid.
Name origin
Indeedee may be derived from indeed and the phrase, "Yes indeedy."
Yessan may be a combination of yessir and ~さん -san (honorific title). It may also be derived from "yes, and...".
