From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Iron Valiant (Japanese: テツノブジン Tetsunobujin) is a dual-type Fairy/Fighting Paradox Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
While not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, it is said to be a relative of Gardevoir and Gallade[1] from the distant future or a version of them[2] from a different timeline.
Biology
Iron Valiant with its blades attached
Iron Valiant is a mechanical, bipedal Pokémon whose appearance retains numerous visual traits from both Gardevoir and Gallade. Its arms consist of gauntlets with large magenta blades protruding from the sides, which it can detach and combine to serve as a deadly double-edged weapon. Its head spikes outward twice from both sides and is covered by a green curved piece resembling hair with two cone-shaped structures at the back of its head, and a teal head crest, somewhat akin to a gladiator's helmet. A hollow magenta core serves as a centerpiece on its chest. Five petal-shaped white and green guards tinged with magenta at the ends adorn its torso, resembling a dress.
According to an article from an April issue of Occulture magazine, Iron Valiant's name is borrowed from that of an object described in the Violet Book. An unproven theory claims that it is a robot built as the product of a mad scientist's efforts to create the most powerful psychic Pokémon. According to eyewitnesses, Iron Valiant is similar in appearance to both Gardevoir and Gallade. It is also said to be a cruel Pokémon, willing to take its shining blade and cut down anyone confronting it without hesitation. While asleep, it turns itself off, causing the energy on its "ponytails", core, blades, feet and dress to disappear, making them black.
According to AI Turo, Iron Valiant is a future Pokémon related to both Gardevoir and Gallade. However, according to a Turo at the Crystal Pool, Iron Valiant is a counterpart of Gardevoir and Gallade from another timeline. Its true origin is unknown. Iron Valiant were brought to the depths of Area Zero by a time machine built by Professor Turo ten years ago.

Trivia
- No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Iron Valiant.
- Its types are the secondary types of the Pokémon it is based on.
- Iron Valiant is the only Paradox Pokémon to be based on more than one Pokémon.
- Iron Valiant and Roaring Moon can be considered counterparts of one another.
- They share a base stat total of 590 instead of the 570 found in most other non-Legendary Paradox Pokémon.
- Both are separated from the other non-Legendary Paradox Pokémon in Paldea Pokédex and National Pokédex numbering.
- Both are not covered in any editions of Occulture magazine in the Naranja AcademyS/Uva AcademyV entrance hall, with the editions covering them being found in the lab on Poco Path instead.
- They are both the final and highest-leveled Pokémon used by Professor SadaS/Professor TuroV in their first battle, as well as the only Pokémon on their team with the held item Booster Energy.
- Both possess a weakness and resistant to their own type attacks. Iron Valiant, Fairy/Fighting, is weak to Fairy and resistant to Fighting; Roaring Moon, Dragon/Dark, is weak to Dragon and resistant to Dark.
- Although Iron Valiant can learn Skill Swap via TM, it will always fail as Quark Drive cannot be swapped.
Origin
Iron Valiant is based on a fusion of Gardevoir and Gallade, its type combination appears to have come from the secondary typing of the former and latter, it also has traits from the Mega Evolved forms of both Pokémon. It also seems to be based on a paladin. Like Gallade, Iron Valiant's blades resemble tonfas while sheathed in its arms, but form a sort of dual-headed glaive or other similar bladed polearm when joined together.
Name origin
Iron Valiant is literally iron valiant. Iron as it references its mechanical-like appearance, and Valiant (showing courage or valour)
Tetsunobujin can be taken literally as 鉄の武人 tetsu no bujin (iron warrior).
