Chaz

Chaz (Japanese: エイジ Eiji) is a minor recurring character who appeared in the Pokémon anime. He made his main appearance in All Things Bright and Beautifly!.

Chaz is a Pokémon Coordinator who entered the Rustboro City Pokémon Contest alongside his friend and rival, Janet. In the end, he and Janet both made it to the final round. Chaz used his Venomoth against her Beautifly, but ended up losing to her.

Upon finding out Ash's intention to battle the Rustboro Gym with his Pikachu, Chaz instructed Ash to teach Pikachu the move Iron Tail with the help of his Sentret in order to overcome Roxanne's Rock-type Pokémon.

Chaz also had a cameo in Deceit and Assist, watching May compete in the Hoenn Grand Festival. He appears to know Timmy Grimm from Verdanturf Town, as he was seen watching the Grand Festival with him.
