Scary house
The scary house is a small residence situated in the northern section of the route with a lone man. When the player first arrives at the house with Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor, the man will retell a haunted story.
- "It was a dark and stormy night many years ago. Lost, I arrived at this house and went inside. The lights would not turn on, so I fearfully looked around the house. Eventually, I made my way into the kitchen. There was no sign of anyone being there... I found the fridge, and when I opened it, a faint light leaked out. I could finally make out my surroundings. And I saw the faint outline of a man huddling in the corner of the room. I tried to tell him that I was lost and I was hoping he'd let me stay until morning, but when I approached him... The man suddenly screamed, "Stay back!" I apologized and continued to plead my case. "Please, can't you help me?" "I'm not talking to you!" he shouted. I looked at the man in surprise. When I did this, the man asked me... "Can't you see them? Behind you!"
- "A horde of faceless men!""
The man will continue to ask for a tip, but the outcome of any option chosen is relatively the same.

The scary house in the anime
Route 14 is the location of a swamp which Ash's Goodra calls home. It first appeared in a flashback in A Slippery Encounter!, where Goodra, as a Goomy, was attacked by an army of Bug-type Pokémon. In the chaos of the attack, Goomy was blown away and landed on a Swanna's back, who transported it to Ash and his friends on Route 12.
Ash and his friends, along with Goodra, arrived on Route 14 in Defending the Homeland!, where they met Keanan, the warden who oversees Goodra's homeland. There, they discovered the commander behind the attack is a Blue Flower Florges. However, they learned that Florges wanted the spring water to heal her sick child, a Blue Flower Floette. After saving Goodra's homeland from the Team Rocket trio, Goodra and Florges worked together to restore it and heal Floette. Once all is said and done, Ash decided to release his Goodra so it can stay with its friends and act as their official guardian.
The scary house appeared in Scary Hospitality!. Unlike in the games, this house was actually haunted by the spirit of Lon, along with his Ghost-type friends, Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar. A small playground with some swings and a slide were also featured, much like the route in the games.
In A Diamond in the Rough!, Ash and his friends revisited the wetlands on their way to the Lumiose Conference, reuniting with Goodra. The group also encountered a group of Carbink, who were looking for their friend that was off playing pranks on the wetland Pokémon. After reuniting the Carbink and saving them from Team Rocket, Ash and his friends resumed their journey to Lumiose City.

Trivia
- In English, the Hex Maniac that gives the player TM06 (Toxic) states, "The move Toxic, which Poison-type Pokémon use, always hits." This line was mistranslated, as in the original Japanese, she states, "When Poison-type Pokémon use Toxic, it always hits."
- This route has the same background music from Connecting Cave or Glittering Cave.
