History
Ruby & Sapphire arc
Camerupt first appeared in Tripped Up by Torkoal, using his fire abilities to illustrate Maxie's desire for the world to burn. In Walrein and Camerupt Camerupt was used in Maxie's battle against Archie's Walrein. The two start with a powerful collision of fire and water attacks, which ends in a draw. The two Pokémon growl at each other before charging, with Walrein getting on top of Camerupt and biting down on him. Archie reveals that Walrein's fangs have the ability to release a cold gas that can freeze any opponent. Unconcerned Maxie mentions that Camerupt has Magma Armor as his ability, allowing him to ignore any damage Walrein could have dealt. Taking the opportunity to counter attack Camerupt uses a powerful Eruption, blasting Walrein off of him. Despite the force of the Eruption, Archie reveals that Walrein's Thick Fat ability kept it from being badly damaged. Realizing that neither of them are going to win the Trainers recall their Pokémon and decide to talk through their issues.
In The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon X, Camerupt is used alongside Archie's Walrein to battle against Ruby and Sapphire. He starts the battle by attacking Ruby's Swampert, Mumu. Mumu easily throws him out of the way to allow the rest of his team to attack Maxie and Archie, but the power of the Red Orb and Blue Orb blast them away. Realizing that Archie and Maxie aren't battling in sync the two Pokédex holders decide to attack by complimenting their strengths and weaknesses. Refusing to give up Camerupt attacks with Overheat while Walrein attacks with Sheer Cold, knocking out most of Ruby and Sapphire's Pokémon.
In It All Ends Now VIII, Camerupt is again used in a battle alongside Archie's Walrein to battle against Ruby and Sapphire. The two are struck by a combo attack from Mumu and Chic, prompting Maxie and Archie to send out all of their Pokémon as a distraction so they could escape.
Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc
In Blastoise Transforms, Camerupt is used alongside Archie's Sharpedo to battle Red and Green to protect the Red and Blue Orbs they took from Bill. Not wanting to waste time Maxie and Archie reveal that Camerupt and Sharpedo have gained the ability to Mega Evolve into Mega Camerupt and Mega Sharpedo, respectively. Red and Green counter by having their Saur and Blasty Mega Evolve as well. Eventually, Saur and Blasty succeed in defeating Camerupt and Sharpedo, but the battle was interrupted by the arrival of Groudon and Kyogre. Maxie and Archie use the orbs to turn Groudon and Kyogre into their Primal forms. With its new power, Groudon proceeded to easily defeat Red and Green by creating a sink hole to bury them under.
In PS614, Maxie, alongside Archie, begin fading away due to consuming too much energy. While fading away they tell their subordinates, Blaise and Amber, to protect the planet. Following their advice Blaise takes Camerupt with him.
In Omega Alpha Adventure 21, Camerupt helped to assist in stopping the meteoroid.
Personality and characteristics
Camerupt is a powerful and defensive Pokémon, able to endure many attacks before counterattacking. He has a strong relationship with his original Trainer and was the powerhouse of his team. He takes his orders seriously and adapts well to new situations, seen with his ability to work with Archie's Walrein, a former enemy.
