Swalot (Japanese: マルノーム Marunoom) is a Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.
It evolves from Gulpin starting at level 26.
Biology
Swalot is a tall, purple, amorphous Pokémon. It has red, beady eyes and yellow whiskers. A female Swalot has shorter whiskers than a male. It has puckered lips and can fit an automobile tire in its mouth. Its hands have three fingers. It has a single row of black rhombi running across its midsection, and it can expand and contract its body at will.
Swalot is capable of swallowing anything whole and can digest anything except its own stomach lining. It covers prey and opponents with a powerful poison. It likes eating poisoned and poisonous things. It lives in grasslands and savannas.
Evolution
Swalot evolves from Gulpin.
In the anime
Major appearances
Swalot debuted in Deceit and Assist, under the ownership of Anthony. He had been training it since it was a Gulpin. It was used to compete in the Grand Festival, during which it battled May and lost.
In From Brags to Riches, Dominick used a Swalot and Tropius in a battle against Ash, where they battled Corphish and Torkoal. However, Corphish ultimately managed to defeat Swalot.
In Lost Leader Strategy!, Reggie used a Swalot in his battle against Ash. It battled Staravia and was able to defeat it.
Minor appearances
In All Dressed Up With Somewhere To Go!, a Swalot competed in the Pokémon Dress-Up Contest, being painted to look like a Grimer.
A Trainer's Swalot appeared in Summer of Discovery!.
In Crowning the Chow Crusher!, a Sailor's Swalot competed in the Pokémon Grand Eating Contest.

Pokémon Adventures
In Swanky Showdown with Swalot, a Swalot fought Lucy and Spenser in an exhibition battle. Although it seemingly won using a Hyper Beam after putting the former's Seviper to sleep, the Fang Snake Pokémon awoke using her Shed Skin Ability and counterattacked with a Dig maneuver, defeating it.
The Battle Tower rented a Swalot, which was stolen by Guile Hideout in The Final Battle VII.
In a flashback in Innocent Scientist, a Swalot was trained by the International Police.
Team Flare Grunts own multiple Swalot, which first appeared in Rhyhorn Charges.

Swalot may be based on myriad organs or glands, such as a stomach, a gallbladder, or a single, giant poison gland. It may also be based upon a generic organism that uses pseudopodia. Its general shape resembles a slug.
