Information
Phantom Forces is the name given to the fourth main expansion of the XY Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. In Japan, it was released as Phantom Gate, the fourth expansion in the Pokémon Card Game XY Era. It is based on Pokémon X and Y, featuring Generation VI Pokémon and the Shadow Pokémon Gengar. The English expansion was released on November 5, 2014, while the Japanese expansion was released on September 13, 2014.
Phantom Forces introduced Spirit Link, Pokémon Tool cards that allowed Pokémon to Mega Evolve without ending the player's turn.
The set has a light Team Flare theme, featuring major characters as Supporter cards, a group of Item cards designated as Team Flare Gear and two Pokémon Tool cards that are Team Flare Hyper Gear. The Team Flare Hyper Gear cards are unique as Tools that are attached to the opponent's Pokémon in order to hinder them.
