Mt. Pyre (Japanese: おくりび山 Mt. Pyre) is a location in Hoenn. It has an interior and exterior section and is located on Route 122.
Mt. Pyre can be considered a counterpart to Kanto's Pokémon Tower and House of Memories, Sinnoh's Lost Tower, and Unova's Celestial Tower, in that it houses the many graves of Pokémon. Many grieving Trainers also visit the Tower to pay their respects. Also present within the mountain are thrill-seeking Trainers who will battle the player when encountered.
An old couple that live on the summit of the mountain are well versed in the legends of Hoenn. They guard the Red Orb and Blue Orb that are sought by Team Aqua and Team Magma, respectively.
In Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, Team MagmaROR or Team AquaSAS will steal the Blue OrbRAS or the Red OrbSOR from the summit of Mt. Pyre and use it to awaken GroudonROR or KyogreSAS. In Generation III, after the Legendary Pokémon is subdued, the player can return to the summit to watch MaxieR or ArchieS return the orb to its proper place, after which the player returns their own orb, and the villainous team's leader departs; Team Aqua and Team Magma are afterwards not seen for the rest of the game.
In Pokémon Emerald, both Team Magma and Team Aqua will take one of the orbs to awaken Groudon and Kyogre, respectively. After the player has subdued the Legendary Pokémon, the player can return to the summit to watch Maxie and Archie return the Blue Orb and Red Orb to their proper places and then depart. After the orbs are returned, Team Aqua and Team Magma are not seen for the rest of the game.
In Generation VI, however, the player gets to keep the orbs, as they are the keys to unlocking Primal Reversion, and sees both Team Aqua and Team Magma during the Delta Episode and at the Battle Resort.
Phoebe of the Elite Four trains at Mt. Pyre. After the Delta Episode, the player can find Phoebe near the summit, talking to spirits. She says she came to visit her grandmother, upon whom the player character made a lasting impression.
In Generation VI, ruins of ancient buildings can be found on Mt. Pyre's summit.

Mt. Pyre's interior in Pokémon Adventures
Pokémon Adventures
Mt. Pyre first appeared in I'm Always Grumpig First Thing in the Morning II, where Tate and Liza were shown to be on guard duty at the summit in place of the old couple, thus preventing them from attending the emergency Gym Leader meeting at Fortree City. They were attacked by Magma Admin Blaise, who used his fire illusions to distract the twins and easily steal the Red and Blue Orbs.
In Facing Gulpin Is Hard to Swallow, it was revealed that Spenser had once visited Mt. Pyre in his younger days. Despite the Red and Blue Orbs being forbidden to be touched by anybody, Spenser had been unable to resist the beauty of the Blue Orb, and had ended up touching it. As a result, he had started having nightmares featuring Kyogre.
In the TCG
This listing is of cards mentioning and/or featuring Mt. Pyre in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
