Pokémon Journeys: The Series is the twenty-third season of the dubbed version of the Pokémon anime. It is the first season of Pokémon Journeys: The Series. The season follows Ash and Goh as they travel around the world, based at the Cerise Laboratory in Vermilion City in Kanto.

In the United States, episodes were added quarterly on Netflix, beginning on June 12, 2020 with the first twelve episodes, starting from Enter Pikachu! and concluding on March 5, 2021 with the last twelve episodes, ending with A Close Call... Practically!. In Canada, it debuted on May 9 on Teletoon. In the United Kingdom, the first four episodes aired as a sneak peek on May 25 on POP, where the series officially debuted on September 1. The series began airing in Australia on 9Go! on October 30, and in New Zealand on TVNZ 2 on December 26.

It is preceded by Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon – Ultra Legends and succeeded by Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series.

Blurb

Pokémon Trainer Ash Ketchum has a new plan: see the world! But first, he and his partner Pikachu are headed to the opening of the Cerise Laboratory, a research facility dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of Pokémon in every region. Ash meets Goh, another boy with boundless curiosity about Pokémon, and both are overjoyed when Professor Cerise asks them to become official research fellows. With Ash as determined as ever to become a Pokémon Master, and Goh aiming to catch one of every Pokémon (including the Mythical Mew), our heroes are in for adventure and excitement as they explore the wide world of Pokémon!

Trivia

  • An alternate logo that calls this season "The Animated Series" is used in the POP Player app.
  • On Netflix, an epilepsy disclaimer at the beginning of each episode is shown after the TV rating text, following its use on Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution. In Japan, the disclaimer has been broadcast at the beginning of each episode since EP038.
  • This is the first season:
    • to exclude the "To Be Continued..." text usually seen at the end of an episode. The first five episodes on Pokémon TV retain the text, however.
    • to have the Who's That Pokémon? segment inline with the Japanese version, with the type names removed.
    • to premiere on a streaming platform rather than on television in the United States.
    • to be dubbed by Iyuno (then known as Iyuno Media Group).
    • since Pokémon: DP Sinnoh League Victors to have different title card music in the English dub.
  • This is the first season to be dubbed into:
