==Biology==
==Biology==
Eelektross is an eel-like Pokémon that resembles a lamprey, with a long tentacle-like, finned limb extending from its head. It has red eyes, dark blue body, and possesses clawed, paddle-like arms with yellow spots and yellow-and-red palms. It has a beige fin on the upper portion of its body and beige fin-like legs below. It lives in the ocean, but it comes ashore to capture prey. It can use its arms to crawl out of the ocean and its sucker mouth to suck in prey. After latching onto its prey using its sucker mouth, it drags the prey into the ocean. It electrifies prey before eating.

===Origin===
===Origin===
Eelektross and its evolutionary relatives may be based on {{wp|electric eels}}, {{wp|Agnatha}}, {{wp|lampreys}}, and possibly {{wp|leeches}}. The fact that it is Electric-type may be an allusion to {{wp|bioelectrogenesis}}.
Eelektross and its pre-evolved forms are based on eels,<ref name="ND205" /> perhaps specifically the {{wp|electric eel}} (which is actually a type of {{wp|knifefish}}, despite its name). They may also be based on {{wp|lamprey}}s and {{wp|leech}}es. Its {{t|Electric}} typing may be an allusion to {{wp|bioelectrogenesis}}. The way it moves in the air with open mouth may come from {{wp|windsock}}s.

Eelektross (Japanese: シビルドン Shibirudon) is an Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves from Eelektrik when exposed to a Thunder Stone. It is the final form of Tynamo.

Biology

Eelektross is an eel-like Pokémon that resembles a lamprey, with a long tentacle-like, finned limb extending from its head. It has red eyes, a dark blue body, and possesses clawed, paddle-like arms with yellow spots and yellow-and-red palms. It has a beige fin on the upper portion of its body and beige fin-like legs below.

It lives in the ocean, but it crawls ashore using its arms in order to hunt. It latches onto prey with its sucker mouth and shocks them with electricity from its fangs, before dragging them as it returns into the ocean.

Evolution

Eelektross evolves from Eelektrik and is the final form of Tynamo.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Trivia

  • Eelektross and its pre-evolved forms were designed by Yusuke Ohmura.[1]
  • Eelektross and its pre-evolved forms are the only Pokémon with no type weaknesses, as of current type mechanics (including the Fairy type).
  • Eelektross's White, Black 2, White 2, X and Omega Ruby Pokédex entries mention that Eelektross can use its fangs to shock its prey with electricity. Despite this, Eelektross did not learn Thunder Fang until Generation IX.
  • Along with Oricorio, Eelektross and its pre-evolved forms are the only Pokémon included in all three of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Pokédexes.

Origin

Eelektross and its pre-evolved forms are based on eels,[1] perhaps specifically the electric eel (which is actually a type of knifefish, despite its name). They may also be based on lampreys and leeches. Its Electric typing may be an allusion to bioelectrogenesis. The way it moves in the air with open mouth may come from windsocks.

Name origin

Eelektross may be a combination of eel, electric, and possibly boss or gross.

Shibirudon may be a combination of 痺れ shibire (numbness) or 痺鰻 shibire-unagi (electric eel) and don (Spanish for lord) or -don (common suffix in dinosaur names derived from the Ancient Greek word for tooth).
