Locations
Effect
Generation III
Held item
*Growing on Route 120 when the player first arrives there
Generations III-VI
An Aguav Berry, when held by a Pokémon, will restore 1/8 of its maximum HP when its HP drops to ½ or below, but causes confusion to Pokémon that dislike the bitter flavor. (Specifically, it confuses Pokémon with Naughty, Rash, Naive, or Lax Natures.) When forcibly consumed via Fling, Pluck, or Bug Bite, it restores 1/8 of the consumer's maximum HP, and confuses any consumer that dislikes the bitter flavor.

Generation IV
Generation VII
*Sometimes given from the Berry Master
An Aguav Berry now restores ½ of the holder's HP when it drops to ¼ or below.

Growth and Harvest
Generation VIII
Generation III
The restored amount is decreased to 1/3 of the holder's HP.
Aguav Berries mature from planted seed to fruit-bearing tree in 24 hours, with 6 hours per stage.

Generation IV
Bag item
Aguav Berries mature from planted seed to fruit-bearing tree in 20 hours, with 5 hours per stage.
Generation III-VI
When used from the Bag on a Pokémon, it restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/8 of its maximum HP. It is consumed after use.

Berry Blending
Generation VII
An Aguav Berry now restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/2 of its maximum HP when used from the Bag on a Pokémon.

Berry Crushing
Generation VIII
An Aguav Berry now restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/3 of its maximum HP when used from the Bag on a Pokémon.

Poffin Cooking
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/2 of its maximum HP. A wild Pokémon that hates bitter flavors will briefly pause if it eats an Aguav Berry.
At 100% performance, an Aguav Berry can produce a level 10 Bitter Poffin when cooking alone.

Generation VII

An Aguav Berry now restores ½ of the holder's HP when it drops to ¼ or below.

Generation VIII

The restored amount is decreased to 1/3 of the holder's HP.

Bag item

Generation III-VI

When used from the Bag on a Pokémon, it restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/8 of its maximum HP. It is consumed after use.

Generation VII

An Aguav Berry now restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/2 of its maximum HP when used from the Bag on a Pokémon.

Generation VIII

An Aguav Berry now restores the Pokémon's HP by 1/3 of its maximum HP when used from the Bag on a Pokémon.
