Biology
Biology
Mime Jr. is a small, pink Pokémon with dark blue legs and "hat," which appears crooked and has a white ball on it. A red bump appears on its stomach and a typical red clown nose appears on its face. It has slender arms and small hands. Mime Jr. has a knack for imitating others, though is not very good at it; it can easily pick up emotions of those around it and imitate them. It has been known to mimic its foes in order to create distractions. Once the foe is confused, it will quickly escape. It likes places where many people gather. In Galar, Mime Jr. tend to idolize Mr. Rime, and make to imitate their movements in a master-apprentice relationship.

In the anime
Mime Jr. has a knack for imitating others, though is not very good at it; it can easily pick up the emotions of those around it and imitate them. It has been known to mimic its foes in order to create distractions. Once the foe is confused, it will quickly escape. In Galar, Mime Jr. tends to idolize and imitate its final evolved form Mr. Rime, which are widely popular in the region for their talent in tap-dancing. By practicing their dance steps, they eventually evolve into a Galarian Mr. Mime. It likes places where many people gather and has often been seen visiting marketplaces filled with people. As mentioned in the Sleep Style Dex, Mime Jr. can found sleeping on pantomimed bed on rare occasions. Even when sleeping, Mime Jr. is  putting in a lot of heart and effort into mimicking its evolution Mr. Mime

Major appearances
James's Mime Jr.
James obtained a Mime Jr. from his Nanny and Pop-Pop in Sweet Baby James, which also marked the species' main series debut. Although Mime Jr. was rarely used in battle by James, it has helped Jessie during the Performance Stage of several Pokémon Contests. James eventually left Mime Jr. at Team Rocket HQ when he headed to Unova so he would not attract attention by using Pokémon foreign to the region.

Other
Prior to Generation VI and in Generation VIII, Mime Jr. and its evolved form, Mr. Mime, were the only known Pokémon that could have Filter as an Ability.
Mime Jr. debuted in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, under the ownership of Queen Ilene. It was always seen outside of its Poké Ball.

A Mime Jr. appeared in King and Queen for a Day, where it and a Bonsly were the stars of a television show. The two went missing, and when they were found, they were discovered to be sick. As a result, James's Mime Jr. and Brock's Bonsly had to fill in for them.
Evolution
Mime Jr. evolves into Mr. Mime.

A Mime Jr. appeared in Performing with Fiery Charm!, under the ownership of Santo. It helped its Trainer and the other judges to evaluate the Poké Puffs made by the Performers during the Theme Performance of the Dendemille Showcase Rookie Class.
In Galar, it evolves into Galarian Mr. Mime, which evolves into Mr. Rime.

Major appearances
James's Mime Jr.
James obtained a Mime Jr. from Nanny and Pop-Pop in Sweet Baby James, which also marked the species' main series debut. Mime Jr. returned to James's party in Rocket Revengers!.

Other
Mime Jr. debuted in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, under the ownership of Queen Ilene. It was always seen outside of its Poké Ball.

In King and Queen for a Day, a Mime Jr. and a Bonsly were the stars of a television show. The two went missing, and when they were found, they were discovered to be sick. As a result, James's Mime Jr. and Brock's Bonsly had to fill in for them.

In Performing with Fiery Charm!, Santo owns a Mime Jr. It helped its Trainer and the other judges to evaluate the Poké Puffs made by the Performers during the Theme Performance of the Dendemille Showcase Rookie Class.

In Leaping Toward the Dream!, a Mime Jr. appeared under the ownership of Professor Amaranth. It has since made further appearances in Pokémon Journeys: The Series.

Origin
Origin
Mime Jr. appears to be based on a mime, a toddler, and a clown. Its secondary Fairy typing and pointed hat indicate that it may also be based on fairy tale gnomes. Its upper body and simple design also suggests that it may be a tsukumogami based on a cloth hand puppet, to complement the dummy-like appearance of Mr. Mime.
Mime Jr. seems to be based on a toddler and a mime artist due to its imitation behavior. It is also reminiscent of a clown due to its bright colors and big, red nose. The blue growth on its head resembles a knit cap with earflaps or a cap and bells worn by court jesters. Its Fairy type and pointed hat may be inspired by various humanoid fairy tale creatures such as gnomes, Dwarf (mythology), and elves. In folklore, the terms "elves" and "fairies" are sometimes used interchangeably. Its body shape also resembles a hand puppet or a doll. In Japanese folklore, inanimate objects that are possessed by spirits and come to life are known as tsukumogami.

Mime Jr. is also reminiscent of an ice cream cone, with its pointy legs resembling a cone, its pink body and head resembling scoops of strawberry ice cream, its hat resembling a swirl of whipped cream, and its red nose and button resembling Maraschino cherry.

Name origin
Mime Jr. is derived from the name of its evolution, Mr. Mime.
Mime Jr. may be derived from mime and the abbreviation of Junior.

Mime Jr. (Japanese: マネネ Manene) is a dual-type Psychic/Fairy baby Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. Prior to Generation VI, it was a pure Psychic-type Pokémon.

It evolves into Mr. Mime when leveled up while knowing Mimic.

In Galar, Mime Jr. evolves into Galarian Mr. Mime when leveled up while knowing Mimic, which evolves into Mr. Rime starting at level 42. Kantonian Mr. Mime is not known to evolve into any other Pokémon.

Biology

Mime Jr. is a small, pink Pokémon with dark-blue legs and a "hat", which appears crooked and has a white ball on it. A red bump appears on its stomach and a typical red clown nose appears on its face. It has slender arms and small hands.

Mime Jr. has a knack for imitating others, though is not very good at it; it can easily pick up the emotions of those around it and imitate them. Mime

Prior to Generation VI and in Generation VIII, Mime Jr. and its evolved form, Mr. Mime, were the only known Pokémon that could have Filter as an Ability.

Evolution

Mime Jr. evolves into Mr. Mime.

Mime Jr. returned to James's party in Rocket Revengers!.

Other

Mime Jr. debuted in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, under the ownership of Queen Ilene.

Trivia

 • Mime Jr. is the only Pokémon with a catch rate of 145.
 • Mime Jr. has the lowest base HP stat of all Psychic-type and Fairy-type Pokémon.
 • Mime Jr. is the only Pokemon with two types whose primary type becomes its evolution's secondary type. This is only the case if it evolves into Galarian Mr. Mime, as regular Mr. Mime share their exact typing with Mime Jr.

Origin

Mime Jr. seems to be based on a toddler and a mime artist due to its mimicking behavior. It is also reminiscent of a clown due to its bright colors and big, red nose. The blue growth on its head resembles a knit cap with earflaps or a fool's cap worn by court jesters. Its Fairy type and pointed hat may be inspired by various humanoid fairy tale creatures such as gnomes, dwarves, and elves. In folklore, the terms "elves" and "fairies" are sometimes used interchangeably. Its body shape also resembles a hand puppet or a doll. In Japanese folklore, inanimate objects that are possessed by spirits and come to life are known as tsukumogami.

Mime Jr. is also reminiscent of an ice cream cone, with its pointy legs resembling a cone, its pink body and head resembling scoops of strawberry ice cream, its hat resembling a swirl of whipped cream, and its red nose and button resembling maraschino cherries.

Name origin

Mime Jr. may be derived from mime and the abbreviation of Junior.

Manene may be a combination of 真似 mane (mimicry) and the interrogative particle -ne?, similar to Bulbasaur's Japanese etymology (fushigi da ne?). It could also be derived from nene, a Spanish term for "baby".
