Roselia (Japanese: ロゼリア Roselia) is a -type Pokémon.
|generation=3
|friendship=70
}}
Roselia (Japanese: ロゼリア Roselia) is a dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

Biology
It evolves from Budew when leveled up with high friendship during the day and evolves into Roserade when exposed to a Shiny Stone.
Physiology
Roselia seems to share physical traits with both Gardevoir and Jumpluff.  However, Roselia is only directly related to Budew and Roserade.

Roselia is a small Pokémon with a light green body.  Roselia has a leaf skirt and holds a rose on each of its hands. Roselia has three thorns on top of its head. Roselia are normally 12 inches tall, but on rare occasions they grow up to the size of a human child.
Biology
Gender differences
Roselia is a small, light green bipedal Pokémon. It has three thorns on top of its head, and it has black eyes with long eyelashes. Visible from the back is a small stretch of yellow coloration around its neck much like a collar. There are leaves extending from its shoulders like epaulettes. It has a leaf skirt with a yellow stripe running down the front. A male will have a shorter leaf than a female. It holds a rose in each of its hands, a red one in its right, and a blue one in its left. However, it is said that it will occasionally have unusually colored flowers.
A male Roselia has a shorter skirt than a female.

Special abilities
Roselia's aroma brings serenity, but the thorns on its head contain a vicious poison. The more healthy it is, the more pleasant its flowers' aroma. It shoots sharp thorns at anything that tries to steal its flowers and uses different poisons in each hand when it attacks. It lives in List of Pokémon by habitat where it drinks nutrient-rich spring water. Roseilia's thorns are used as part of an old tradition, challenging an opponent to a duel by sending these thorns.
Roselia normally fire sharp thorns (either Poison Sting or Pin Missile, but the latter of the two rarely occurs) as a first offense, usually at wild Pokémon who try to steal its flowers. Roselia are also capable of launching some Powder-based moves to either inflict status problems on its foes (Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, PoisonPowder or Sweet Scent) or to heal the status problems of itself and its allies (Aromatherapy). Roselia are also capable of knowing Petal Dance.  Like most Grass-type Pokémon, Roselia can take in sunlight and focus it into a SolarBeam.

Behavior
In Generation III, Grass Whistle was its signature move, but other Pokémon could still inherit it via breeding.
Habitat
Diet
Evolution
Main article: Pokémon food
Roselia evolves from Budew and evolves into Roserade.

Roselia usually drink nutrient-rich spring water.  Since Roselia is a plant-based Pokémon, it also nourishes itself through photosynthesis.
(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

NPC appearances
Roselia is the signature Pokémon of Drew.  Roselia was first seen under his ownership in Now That's Flower Power and has been used in many Pokémon Contests since.
* Super Mystery Dungeon: Roselia is a minor character who is a resident of Serene Village alongside her child Budew and had a brief period of being unwell but soon recovered.

Victoria of the Winstrate Family owns a Roselia which she used in a battle against May in Candid Camerupt.

Roselia (Japanese: ロゼリア Roselia) is a dual-type Grass/Poison Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves from Budew when leveled up with high friendship during the day and evolves into Roserade when exposed to a Shiny Stone.

Biology

Roselia is a small, light green bipedal Pokémon. It has three thorns on top of its head, and it has black eyes with long eyelashes. Visible from the back is a small stretch of yellow coloration around its neck much like a collar. There are leaves extending from its shoulders like epaulettes. It has a leaf skirt with a yellow stripe running down the front. A male will have a shorter leaf than a female. It holds a rose in each of its hands, a red one in its right, and a blue one in its left. However, it is said that it will occasionally have unusually colored flowers.

Roselia's aroma brings serenity, but the thorns on its head contain a vicious poison. The more healthy it is, the more pleasant its flowers' aroma. It shoots sharp thorns at anything that tries to steal its flowers and uses different poisons in each hand when it attacks. It lives in grassy areas where it drinks nutrient-rich spring water. Roseilia's thorns are used as part of an old tradition, challenging an opponent to a duel by sending these thorns.

In Generation III, Grass Whistle was its signature move, but other Pokémon could still inherit it via breeding.

Evolution

Roselia evolves from Budew and evolves into Roserade.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Trivia

Origin

Roselia is likely based on rose bushes. Its humanoid design, connection to flowers, and one of its Egg Groups suggest that it is also based on fairies. While red and blue are known rose colours, these two specifically together could be referencing hydrangeas, which produce red or blue flowers depending on the pH level of the soil.

Name origin

Roselia may be a combination of rose, azalea, and camellia.
