}}
Grovyle (Japanese: ジュプトル Juptile) is a Grass Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves from Treecko starting at level 16 and evolves into Sceptile starting at level 36.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Grovyle is a bipedal Pokémon similar in appearance to a Theropoda dinosaur. It is primarily green with a red underside. There is a belt-like green stripe across its belly. Grovyle's hands have two clawed fingers and powerful legs with birdlike feet. Its well-developed muscles make it an expert climber and allow it to leap quickly from branch to branch. Grovyle has three long leaves on its wrists, a large leaf on top of its head, and two tails that have a leafy appearance. This leafy appearance allows it to be camouflaged in the List of Pokémon by habitat where it lives. In Generation III, Leaf Blade was its signature move.
Grovyle has more dinosaur-like appearance than its previous form, Treecko. Grovyle's feet are more bird-like and its two tails now have a leafy appearance. Grovyle has three long leaves on its wrists and a large leaf on top of its head.

* Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky: Grovyle is a major character in the main storyline. He travels to the present to prevent the collapse of Temporal Tower by stealing Time Gears, actions that make him appear villainous for most of the game. The player was his partner in the future. He also stars in the Special Episode In the Future of Darkness.
* Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: The same Grovyle from Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky is recruitable via the Connection Orb. He requests assistance in rescuing Celebi.

Trivia
* Grovyle's evolutionary line is one of two Grass-type lines that are not in the Plant egg group. The other is the Lileep line.
* Grovyle was the inspiration for the naming of Anyphaena grovyle, a species of spider. The species name was chosen in reference to both Grovyle and the discovered spider being found in the forest.
* As seen in its Generation IV backsprite, Grovyle's head has been punctured, compared to its debut, where its head's surface was even.

Origin
Origin
Appearance-wise, it resembles the dinosaur known as the Dromaeosaurus. It is believed that the dinosaur had feathers much like how Grovyle has leaves on its body.
On the Origin of Species: Treecko, Grovyle and Sceptile
Appearance-wise, Grovyle resembles the dinosaur known as the Dromaeosaurus. It is believed that the dinosaur had feathers, much like how Grovyle has leaves on its body - the leaves on its tail are especially similar to the tails of Epidexipteryx, which only had short tails that supported much larger feathers. Its design could be based on a Protarchaeopteryx. Like the other members of its evolutionary line, Grovyle's design shares some similarities with the Uroplatus, a species of lizard that blends in with plantlike appendages. Its green skin and red underside seem to take inspiration from Anolis carolinensis, whose dewlaps inflate and turn red to show dominance.

Name origin
Name origin
Grovyle's name is a combination of the words grove, meaning a group of trees, and possibly vile. Of course, -yle could also refer to "reptile". Its Japanese name is based on jungle or 樹 ju, tree, and reptile or Dromaeosauridae.
Grovyle may be a combination of grove (a group of trees), reptile, and possibly vine or ivy.

Juptile may be a combination of 樹 ju (tree) and reptile or Dromaeosauridae.

Grovyle (Japanese: ジュプトル Juptile) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves from Treecko starting at level 16 and evolves into Sceptile starting at level 36.

Biology

Grovyle is a bipedal Pokémon similar in appearance to a theropod dinosaur. This leafy appearance allows it to be camouflaged in the forests where it lives. In Generation III, Leaf Blade was its signature move.

Evolution

Grovyle evolves from Treecko and evolves into Sceptile.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Pokémon Adventures

Main article: Emerald's Sceptile

The Treecko meant to be handed to Emerald was recovered by Wally and became a Grovyle in Dreadful Dealing with Dusclops to rescue his temporary owner when a wild Dusclops threatened to suck them into its infinite cavity. After a few more weeks of training at the Sky Pillar under Norman, he was able to awaken the ancient legendary Pokémon Rayquaza, but the huge gust of wind sent him flying miles away into a distant island where he evolved again to a Sceptile and was this time caught by Guile Hideout, who smuggled him into the Battle Factory to try to drive the nosy press away. He ended up being stolen by his legitimate owner, Emerald, and became a fixed member of his team.

Emerald had borrowed a Grovyle during his Factory challenge in Pinsir Me, I Must Be Dreaming, it should not be confused with his Sceptile. This Grovyle, like the other Factory Pokémon, is at level 50.

Trivia

 • Grovyle was the inspiration for the naming of Anyphaena grovyle, a species of spider. The species name was chosen in reference to both Grovyle and the discovered spider being found in the forest.[1]

Origin

Bulbanews

Appearance-wise, Grovyle resembles the dinosaur known as the Dromaeosaurus. It is believed that the dinosaur had feathers, much like how Grovyle has leaves on its body - the leaves on its tail are especially similar to the tails of Epidexipteryx, which only had short tails that supported much larger feathers. Its design could be based on a Protarchaeopteryx. Like the other members of its evolutionary line, Grovyle's design shares some similarities with the leaf-tailed gecko, a species of lizard that blends in with plantlike appendages. Its green skin and red underside seem to take inspiration from male green anoles, whose dewlaps inflate and turn red to show dominance.

Name origin

Grovyle may be a combination of grove (a group of trees), reptile, and possibly vine or ivy.

Juptile may be a combination of 樹 ju (tree) and reptile or raptor.
