Route 1 (Japanese: 1番道路 Route 1) is a route in southern Galar, connecting Postwick to Wedgehurst.
Role
In Pokémon Sword and Shield, when the player first visits, they do not have any Pokémon, so Hop does not let the player enter tall grass. On the player's second visit, a group of sleeping Wooloo obstruct the path, forcing the player to traverse the tall grass; these Wooloo leave the route after the player obtains their Pokédex.
Route description
Route 1 has two possible paths. One of them is a straight road with no tall grass that leads straight to Wedgehurst. The other is a side path to the east of the main road with several of patches of tall grass. The side path performs a loop before rejoining the main path further down the road.
