Blizzard (Japanese: ふぶき Snowstorm) is a mostly accurate and very highly-damaging Ice-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Blizzard does damage and has a 9.8% chance of freezing the opponent. It can't freeze an opponent that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment. It has an accuracy of 89.5% in Generation I.

Generation III

Blizzard has an accuracy of 100% if used during the effects of the move Hail.

The most powerful Ice attack, a fast wind with little snow balls are fired which sometimes freeze the opponent.

Pokémon

Skitty: The move is created in its mouth after taking in a breath of air.

Delcatty: As with its pre-evolution, the move is created in its mouth.

Weavile: The crystal on Weavile's forehead glows, then Weavile fires snowballs from its mouth.

Glaceon : Glaceon does a flip, and snowballs are fired from it's mouth.
