Octillery (Japanese: オクタン Okutank) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Remoraid starting at level 25.
Biology
Physiology
Octillery are red cephalopod Pokémon with yellow bumps on their rock-hard heads and yellow suction cups on each tentacle. They possess 8 tentacles, two of them are used for manipulating objects while the other six don't appear to be used as much aside from a stabilizing role.
Gender differences
Female Octillery have smaller suction cups on their tentacles. The yellow bumps on their head are also smaller.
Special abilities
Octillery is much more powerful than its pre-evolved form, Remoraid, but it happens to be much slower. Octillery's tentacles boast stronger gripping power. It also is capable of using Sludge Bomb, Gunk Shot, Energy Ball, Flash Cannon and Giga Impact.
Octillery is the only known Pokémon that learns Octazooka by leveling up.

Both Octillery and Remoraid are normally found in oceans. However, they are occasionally found in freshwater lakes.

Trivia
- Octillery is the only Water Pokémon whose English name starts with an O.
- Octillery is the only non-Template:Type2 Pokémon, aside from Wormadam's Sandy Cloak form, to learn Rock Blast. It is also the only non-Poison Pokémon to learn Gunk Shot by leveling up.
- In its Generation II back sprite, it is missing its eye. This was corrected in Generation III.
- Octillery is capable of learning 15 different-typed moves, discounting Hidden Power. The only type moves it cannot learn are Dragon and Ghost.
- Octillery's sprite in Platinum has darkened considerably compared to other games. This also happens with Scizor, Wooper, and Quagsire.
- Its Platinum sprite is almost identical to its Gold and Silver sprites. This also happens with Scizor.
- Remoraid and Octillery are the only non-legendary, non-Template:Type2 Pokémon to learn Ice Beam naturally that do not gain Ice as a secondary type through evolution.
- Excluding SolarBeam, Octillery can learn all moves that contain "Beam" in their name via TM, leveling up, or move tutor.
- Octillery is the only Pokémon so far to have an attack specifically named after it. In Japanese "Octazooka" is known as "Okutank Cannon"
Origin
This Pokémon is based on an octopus. It also has some basis on a tank or a wheeled cannon.
Name origin
Octillery's name is a combination of octopus and artillery, referring to its many attacks with the "Beam" or similar suffixes. This is similar for Okutank, but with tank instead of artillery.
