Zorua (Japanese: ゾロア Zorua) is a main character in Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
History
In the movie, Zorua is shown to have the ability to communicate with people through telepathy, much like Shaymin and Mewtwo. Zorua and its mother Zoroark were abducted in Unova by the film's antagonist, businessman Grings Kōdai. By threatening Zorua's safety, Kōdai blackmailed Zoroark into attacking Crown City in the guises of Raikou, Entei and Suicune. Zorua managed to escape from Kōdai's ship, however, and met up with Ash and his friends, telling them that it was looking for its "Maa".
Later, outside Crown City, Kōdai broadcast a television statement claiming that Zoroark had seized control of his Pokémon to attack the city. Revealing Zoroark to be its Maa, Zorua tried to rush off and aid her, but was held back.
After wandering off to look for Zoroark again, Zorua found itself surrounded by a group of angry Pokemon, who were angry at it for what Zoroark did, and not even Piplup and Pikachu can convince them to stop. Just as it seems that a fight will break out, Celebi appears and calms things down, befriending Zorua when when it agreed to help the Trickery Fox find Zoroark. Celebi soon found itself pursued by Kōdai as well, however, and was chased throughout the city, ending in a clash at the Pokémon Baccer World Cup Stadium. Kōdai disabled Celebi then used a device concealed in his sleeve to recapture Zorua and blackmail Zoroark again.
When the ripple of time was revealed to be an illusion, Zorua tried to walk towards its mother, who approaches it as well to reunite. Suddenly, Zoroark jumped over Zorua, and takes the brunt of a surprise attack by Koda's Shuppet. Zorua turns in horror as its mother falls, who is then shocked by an enraged Kodai. Zoroark manages to break free, taking out Koda's Shuppet and driving him away to the stadium with the help of the three Shiny legendary beasts serving as Crown City's guardians.
Zoroark collapses from her injuries, no longer possessing the strength to anything else. Zorua pleads to its mother to awaken, creating an illusion of a beautiful grassy field that is their home. He tries to tell Zoroark that they will go back home together, but attempts to wake her was unsuccessful, and everyone fears the worse. Celebi, after being healed by the true Ripple of Time, uses the energy field to revive Zoroark, and Zorua thanks Celebi for saving its mother. Celebi smiles and time travels after making the area's greenry bloom, disappearing out of sight.
Zorua and Zoroark, along with the main protagonists, expose Kodai thanks a video recorded by Kurt, showing the revelations that Kodai was the one responsible for destroying the plantlife two decades previously and that he was willing to do it again. Officer Jenny arrests Kodai, and Zoroark roars at him. Zoroark and Zorua were last seen on a ship heading back to Unova with Template:Mo and Rioka.
