In the movies
Prior to the events of the movie, Eric found the Panna Lotus flowers at Absentia Natural Park, which he moved to Pokémon Hills. Later, during the crisis in the city, he helped repair the power supply, and finally aided in relocating the Genesect Army to Absentia Natural Park.
Eric was first mentioned by Professor Oak in Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening, when he told Ash and his friends about Pokémon Hills and wanted Eric to show them around even though the park wasn't finished at the time.
Eric made his official debut in Genesect and the Legend Awakened, when the group arrived in Pokémon Hills. As promised, Eric showed them around. During a crisis with the Genesect Army taking over Pokémon Hills, he, Ash and Iris attempt to go in while Cilan stayed behind to take of a sick Ralts but the Shock and Chill Drive Genesect prevented them from entering. The trio go to a workers' corridor instead to get in. Cilan eventually caught up to them and Eric rushed off to fix an emergency in the power station. While a battle between the Genesect Army and Mewtwo occurred, Eric was still trying to fix the power situation.
After everything was back to normal, Eric took Ash and his friends, plus the Genesect, to Absentia Natural Park where the Panna Lotuses were located. The Genesect were greatly pleased with their new home. During the credits, Eric guided a tour of the completed Pokémon Hills.
