Birth Island (Japanese: たんじょうのしま Birth Island) is a location near Fortune and Quest Islands in the Sevii Islands, accessible in Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald. It can only be accessed after downloading the AuroraTicket through Mystery Gift and sailing there by talking to the sailor in front of the Seagallop Ferries in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, or by boarding the S.S. Tidal in Pokémon Emerald.

Unlike the other Sevii Islands, but like Navel Rock, Birth Island does not appear on the Town Map^FRLG by default, only appearing when the player first arrives there.

Deoxys is summoned on this island. The player must solve a strange puzzle, by following a moving rock, until Deoxys appears. If the player doesn't follow the shortest path to the next position of the rock, the rock will move back into its original position, resetting the puzzle.

Trivia

• In FireRed and LeafGreen, this is the only area where no background music plays. In Emerald, the bottom floor of the Cave of Origin shares this distinction.
• When encountering Deoxys, デオキシス登場 Deoxys Appears plays. When battling Deoxys, the theme played is 戦い（VSデオキシス）Battle! (Deoxys). This applies to both Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald. These are two of the six tracks shared between these games, with the others being:
  • ファンファーレ ポケモンゲット Fanfare: Pokémon Caught, used when catching Pokémon in these three games;
  • オツキミ山のどうくつ Caves of Mt. Moon, as it plays inside the cave in Navel Rock;
  • ナナシマ Sevii Islands, due to it playing outside Navel Rock;
  • 戦い（VS伝説のポケモン）Battle! (Legendary Pokémon), which is shared for the battles with Ho-Oh and Lugia in Navel Rock.
