Thunder (Japanese: かみなり Thunder) is a mostly accurate and very highly-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Thunder does damage and has a 9.8% chance of paralyzing the opponent. It does double the damage on an opponent using Fly.

Thunder can't paralyze an opponent that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.

Generation II and on

Thunder has an accuracy of 100% when used during heavy rain and 50% if used during bright sunlight.

It also has a 10% chance of paralyzing the target.
