The subject of this article has no official English name. The name currently in use is a fan romanization of the Japanese name. |
(Japanese: ボギー Bogie) is a supporting character who appeared in Jirachi: Wish Maker. He is a market vendor who travels from place to place to sell souvenirs and other memorabilia. When Ash and his friends visited his shop at the Millennium Festival, May expressed interest in Bogie's wishing stars (Japanese: ウィッシュメーカー wishmakers). Bogie explained to May how the wishing stars worked, after which May decided to buy one. Bogie watched the festival's fireworks together with Ash and his friends.
Much later, when Ash and his friends left Forina and continued on their journey, Bogie was driving through and offered them a ride after May had collapsed from exhaustion.
Lookalike
A character strongly resembling Bogie later appeared in The Rise of Darkrai. He set up shop in Alamos Town and began selling Lunar Wings. Dawn visited him and bought one, after he explained the item could ward off bad dreams. This character, however, is only referred to as "old shopkeeper" (売店のおじさん) in the Japanese credits and "older man" in the English closed captions. He has different voice actors to Bogie in both the English and Japanese versions.
