Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension is the eleventh season of the Pokémon anime, immediately following the conclusion of the tenth season. As such it is the second season of the Diamond & Pearl series, following Ash as he continues gathering badges in Sinnoh and Dawn as she continues gathering ribbons.
It began on April 12, 2008 with the dub premiere Tears for Fears! and, if 52 episodes are ordered, will end with DP104.
It is preceded by Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl and will likely be succeeded by a 12th season. It should be noted that the concept of seasons does not exist in Japan, where episodes of Pokémon air nearly every Thursday. An invention of the American broadcast industry, a season is typically aired new for nine months out of the year, with three months (usually during the summer) taken off to begin production for the next season, during which reruns air. In Japan, no differentiation is made between this and any other seasons in the Diamond & Pearl series.
It began airing on digital TV's Jetix in the UK in late 2008. It began to air on UK Freeview on January 5th 2009, simultaneously on CITV/ITV4 on Action Stations!. It will start to air on YTV in Canada on Monday, March 2, 2009.
It began airing on Jetix in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark on February 14th, 2009. It will start on Jetix in Italy on March 30th, 2009. In Germany, it started to air on February 18th, 2009 on RTLII.
