Battle Frontier (Generation IV)
Template:Infobox town The Battle Frontier is a new area introduced in Pokémon Platinum that will feature five different battle facilities. This is the second Battle Frontier made in the Pokémon world, the other being in Hoenn. The Battle Frontier is located in Sinnoh replacing the Battle Park from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The Battle Factory and the Battle Tower are the only returning venues.
Battle Points will be awarded to the player for completing venues.
Facilities
Battle Tower
- Main article: Battle Tower (Sinnoh)
The Battle Tower is identical to the Battle Tower in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The player battles seven, random trainers consecutively in a simple knock-out, progressively becoming more difficult. Trainers will choose three Pokémon to battle with having their level reduced to 50. After each battle, the player's Pokémon will be healed completely and have the option to continue, rest or retire. The Battle Tower has four modes:
- Single Battle
- Double Battle
- Multi Battle
- Wi-Fi Battle

Battle Factory
The Battle Factory will be another battle venue at Sinnoh's Battle Frontier, having basically the same ruling as the Hoenn Battle Frontier's Battle Factory. The player will be able to choose three rental Pokémon of six and battle another trainer with rental Pokémon. It is held in a blue stadium that has an odd similarity to a Prinplup's head. Its color is also blue.

Battle Roulette
Battles in the Battle Roulette are either 3 vs 3 (single) or 4 vs 4 (double). Trainers play roulette before each match. The choice may affect the player's Pokémon, the opponent's or even the field. The roulette may land on status ailments, weather changes, level changes berries and more. It may even land on nothing. The status ailments appear to be based on moves with certain types, therefore, Template:Type2s are immune to poison and Template:Type2s are immune to paralysis.

Battle Castle
In the Battle Castle, players must fight seven opponents in a row. Winning allows players to receive Castle Points, which allow them to buy items for use inside the Battle Castle or see future opponents. In the Battle Castle, Pokémon will not be healed automatically after a battle. Cattleya and her butler, Kokuran are the Frontier Brains for the Battle Castle.
Battle Stage
The Battle Stage features a series of one on one battles. One Pokémon is entered, and then an opponent is chosen from a list of types. As a Trainer moves up through the facility, the levels go higher, making this the only facility to feature Pokémon above level 50.

As the only thing known about an opponent is one of the types of their Pokémon, the game can occasionally throw a curveball, such as if a player chooses to use an Template:Type2 against their Template:Type2 opponent-- only to find out that the opponent is using the Ground/Flying Gligar— immune to Electric moves.
Other areas of interest

A market area will be included within the Battle Frontier. The player can buy various goods with Battle Points won from the facilities. There is also a stall that sells scratchcards in exchange for BP. Using the scratchcards, the player may gamble for items such as Berries.

Trivia
- The Battle Frontier Logo is the color code of the venues corresponding to the five battle venues and their position in the Battle Frontier.
- Due to the pairing of Kokuran and Cattleya, there are an equal number of male and female Frontier Brains. This is the case with Sinnoh's Gym Leaders as well.
