Biology
Physiology
Tabunne is a bipedal, blue-eyed, pink-and-cream-colored Pokémon. The upper section of its face is pink, as are its floppy ears, exempting the tips and curled lower extensions which are cream-colored. The sides of Tabunne's chest and arms are also pink, somewhat resembling a jacket, although the tips of its forelimbs are cream. Its small tail is lumpy and white, similar to soft-server ice cream.

Special abilities
Tabunne have an incredible hearing ability and can use their ears like radars. The feelers on Tabunne's ears act like stethoscopes in that they can feel the beat of the opponent's heart. By listening to other Pokémon's heartbeats, Tabunne can assess their feelings and overall physical condition.
Behavior
Tabunne are natural doctors and nurses. Just like Chansey, they can nurse injured Pokémon back to health.
Habitat
Tabunne are present all over Unova, but are very rare. They will only appear in shaking patches of grass.

Trivia
- It is the only Pokémon available in any patch of grass of a region, similar to how Magikarp is available in any water tile where wild Pokémon can be found.
- Tabunne is the only Pokémon able to learn Secret Power by leveling up.
- It is also the only Generation V Pokémon capable of learning this move, as it was previously only obtainable via TM43, which no longer contains Secret Power.
Origin
Tabunne seems to be based on a combination of koalas, bunnies, and nurses or a physician, with its ears acting like stethoscopes.
Name origin
Its name seems to be derived from 多分ね tabun ne, meaning "maybe". Its name is likely derived from 多聞 tabun, "Many are heard". Additionally, it could be taken from 耳たぶ mimitabu, the word for "earlobe."
