Double Team (Japanese: かげぶんしん Shadow Divide) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Double Team increases the user's evasion by one stage. Double Team will do nothing if the user's evasion has reached a stage of +6.

In the anime

Please feel free to replace it so it conforms to Bulbapedia conventions.
Reason: Not specified

In the anime, Double Team creates illusions of the Pokémon using it, and anything touching the user such as clothes or possibly another Pokémon. It can be used to make the opponent think it's being attacked, while the user attacks from an unexpected position.

Pokémon

Gloom. Gloom glows blue, then it glows white and it creates multiple copies of itself.

Golbat. Golbat creates a copy and uses it as a decoy. After the opponent attacks it, Golbat appears behind the opponent.

Scyther. Scyther glows multicolored, then creates 2 or more copies of itself.

Swellow. Swellow glows white and then creates identical copies of itself.

Meowth. Same as above.

Shiftry. Same as above.

Aipom. Same as above.

Ambipom. Same as above.

Starly. Same as above.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Double Team is Lucario's down Special move. When Lucario uses Double Team, it creates copies of itself for its opponent to attack, while the real Lucario sneaks up from behind to counterattack.
