Waterfall (Japanese: たきのぼり Waterfall Climb) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I. It is HM07 starting in Generation II.

Waterfall in Pokémon Emerald

Allows players to climb waterfalls. Note that in Generations II and III, the HM move Waterfall is not required to go down waterfalls, whereas Diamond and Pearl require the HM. The HM regained its original behavior in Pokémon Platinum and onward.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Waterfall is Squirtle's Special Up move. It can be used by Squirtle as a recovery move and offers high knockback at the very end of the move.

• Waterfall is one of three HM moves that Pokémon can learn by level-up. The other two are Fly and whirlpool (Heartgold and Soulsilver only.).
• In Generation I, Waterfall was Goldeen and Seaking's signature move. These Pokémon remain the only ones to learn the move by level-up.
• Waterfall was the first move to gain HM status in a generation after it was introduced, doing so in Generation II.
