Effect

In battle

Soundproof makes the Pokémon immune to sound-based moves.

Generations III and IV

Pokémon with Soundproof are immune to all sound-based moves, including their own. Pokémon with Soundproof, including inactive Pokémon, are not affected by Heal Bell.

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, a sleeping Pokémon with this Ability cannot be woken with a Poké Flute.

In Generation III and IV only, Pokémon with this Ability can still fall asleep during an uproar.

Generation V

Pokémon with Soundproof can now be affected by Heal Bell.

Generation VI to VII

Active Pokémon with Soundproof cannot be affected by Heal Bell. (Inactive Pokémon can be affected by Heal Bell even if they have Soundproof.)

Generation VIII

Pokémon with Soundproof are no longer immune to their own sound-based moves.
