From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
I'm Pokeman21. I joined Bulbapedia a around a year ago. I hope to become an admin someday, but I know it will take much hard work in contributing for this wiki.
History with Pokémon
I first learned of Pokémon in 1999 when I was 6. I was flipping through channels until I got to Pokémon. It was a cartoon so I went ahead and watched it. I thought the show was awesome. My friends from down the street introduced more of Pokémon to me. I learned of the games and cards from them. I remember getting my first cards, and when my dad got me Pokémon Red.
I have been a Pokémon fan for ten years now, at the age of 16. Though other kids my age don't really like Pokémon, I still love the games, but not really the anime or the trading card game.
Pokemon Games I play
The current main Pokemon game I play is Pokemon Diamond. I plan on getting Platinum, but I don't know when I will get around to it. I used to play Pokemon Gold, but I stopped playing it for a while when I temporarily hated Pokemon when I was in 3rd Grade. At that time I tried to get rid of everything that had to do with Pokemon. Unfortunately, I couldn't sell my crapload of cards. I finally got back into Pokemon in 4th grade when I got Pokemon Sapphire. Later I got Emerald, which was pretty good, but I later gave it away to a friend. Currently, I use my Sapphire version as a simple package for Pokemon. I use cheats to put in Pokemon into Sapphire, and then I trade the Pokemon to Diamond version.
Of the main series, not counting remakes and third versions, My favorites are Gold and Silver. I like how you were able to go to both Johto and Kanto, as well as Mt. Silver. The night and day system was awesome as well! My least favorites are Ruby and Sapphire. They are by no means bad games, but they didn't offer alot of new features. They took out the day and night system, and you couldn't go back to Johto OR Kanto! I understand not being able to go back to both regions, but couldn't they have at least let you go back to Johto? Not alot was added either. Its nice they added Pokemon Contests, but couldn't they add something else that added to the adventure. It was also too bad that you couldn't catch all the Pokemon without using cheats until the addition of games such as Pokemon Colosseum, Emerald, and Fire Red and Leaf Green.
As for the Pokemon Console games, I think most of them are pretty good. I am a fan of Pokemon Stadium 2, and the Colosseum series. The only problem I had with Pokemon Colosseum was that you could only save when you got to a PC, which was annoying as in the handheld games, you were able to save whenever you wanted. Luckily, this was solved in the sequel. However, it still annoys me how the only Pokemon you could catch were shadow Pokemon. As for Pokemon Battle Revolution, its a fun game. It feels like a classic Pokemon Stadium game. The graphics in that game are also amazing, showing what the Wii is truly capable of.
Custom Pokédex
My custom pokedex includes all generation I and II Pokemon, as well as Generation III, IV, and V starters, legendaries, and select Pokemon, and evolutions and preevolutions to Gen I and II introduced in Gen III and IV.
