The Sunlit Cavern (Japanese: 陽だまりの大空洞 Great Sunlit Hollow) is a type of hideaway seen in the Grand Underground. It can only be accessed after the player obtains the Explorer Kit in Eterna City from the Underground Man, and features Pokémon that roam the cave freely, instead of being found in tall grass.

Geography

The Sunlit Cavern takes the appearance of a large, underground forest, with a big tree located somewhere near the center. Many fallen logs are larger than the player, and must be navigated around.

After the player fulfills a particular objective during their adventure, another group of Pokémon are added to the pool of possible encounters. It shares this encounter table with the Grassland Cave. The spawn rates for certain types are influenced by the active "Statue Effect" applied by a player's Secret Base Statues.
