The Path of Solitude (Japanese: いっぴき道 Ippiki-dō) is a battle challenge in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, added in Version 1.1.0. It is conducted by Ingo at the training grounds in Jubilife Village after the player has completed Request 102: Daybreak. The player is to choose a single Pokémon to battle with, and its species, regardless of form, determines the Pokémon that Ingo uses in a designated battle. During this battle, the player cannot use any items from their satchel. Completing a Pokémon's Path of Solitude will add a mark on that Pokémon's page in the player's Pokédex.
Rewards
After defeating Ingo in battle, he will reward the player with 3 Exp. Candies L the first time, and 3 sacks of Grit Dust if the player wins with a repeat Pokémon. Additionally, Ingo will give the player an extra reward for every 10 marks they receive. However, the final milestone reward is gifted at 238 marks.

Single Battles
The following Path of Solitude challenges are all one-on-one battles against Ingo. A checkmark next to the player's Pokémon indicates that there is a request tied to completing the challenge.
Multi Battles
If the player uses Arceus or any of the Pokémon of Myth, Ingo will send out three first partner Pokémon at once against the player.

Trivia
- With the exception of Arceus, all Paths of Solitude for the Mythical Pokémon are references to their respective movies.
- The Chatot and Parasect in Phione and Manaphy's respective Paths of Solitude reference the Phantom's Chatot and Parasect in Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.
- The Lickilicky in Darkrai's Path of Solitude references Baron Alberto's Lickilicky in The Rise of Darkrai.
- The Lickilicky also knows Hyper Beam, just like Alberto's Lickilicky.
- The Magnezone in Shaymin's Path of Solitude references Zero's Magnezone in Giratina and the Sky Warrior.
- The Paths of Solitude for each of the lake guardians have them battling against a non-Alpha version of the Pokémon the player fought before their respective trials.
- The Path of Solitude for Pikachu being against Onix is likely a reference to the anime episode Showdown in Pewter City, where Ash's Pikachu battled against Brock's Onix.
- Ingo using an Unown in Unown’s Path of Solitude marks the first and only time an NPC owns an Unown outside of a battle facility in a core series game.
- The Paths of Solitude for the forces of nature feature Rotom forms that have mastered their special appliance moves, even though this is normally impossible.
