Golden Bonds on Pasio (Japanese: 金に輝くパシオのきずな Bonds on Pasio Gleaming with Gold) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Sygna Suit Lear & Gholdengo.

The "Sygna Suit Lear Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Lear & Gholdengo for the duration of the event, and the "Double Feature Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Rachel & Gimmighoul and Sawyer & Gimmighoul for the duration of the event.

This event featured event points, a currency that players could earn by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Tech Move Candy Coin, a 5★ Power-Up, and medals. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Sygna Suit Lear & Gholdengo to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Sawyer & Gimmighoul or Rachel & Gimmighoul to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted sync pairs with the Ghost, Steel, or Pasio theme skills to obtain +0.2× bonus points.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specific theme skills on the team.

The special event Mysterious Old Coins was a prelude to this event.

Plot

Lear, wearing a brand-new sygna suit, approaches the player, Paulo, and Tina, requesting their assistance in a new project. Inspired by his new partner Pokémon, Gholdengo, he wants to gather a thousand photographs of people socializing around Pasio and asks for the three's help in taking photographs and spreading the word. Once the goal number has been reached, he'll throw a huge party for Trainers. The three Trainers accept the request to help, though first, Lear wishes to join them in thanking several people personally.

The people Lear wants to offer his thanks to turn out to be Brock, Misty, and Rosa. He thanks Rosa for the great work she's been doing as Pasio's tourism ambassador and Brock and Misty for raising awareness of Pasio ever since the PML was held. Brock and Misty note that even when thanking them, Lear manages to sound condescending, though Rosa notes that he's still changed a lot since they first met him. Tina is surprised to learn this, so Brock and Misty fill her in on how he used to reject the mere idea of bonds and working as a team, to the point that he was even unable to use sync moves. His ire was especially directed at the player due to them reminding him of his loss against Red.

Lear is left irritated by these comments, but is interrupted when Hoopa suddenly transports Red, Blue, and Cheren right in front of them. Lear notes that Hoopa's pranks have grown more sophisticated ever since Gholdengo appeared, much to his irritation. Tina asks for Blue and Cheren to share some stories about Lear too, but while they agree to do so, Tina's comment regarding the earlier point about Lear losing to Red strikes a nerve with the prince, who gets annoyed by the smile on Red's face and challenges him to a battle to prove how much stronger he's become. Red agrees and sends out his Lapras to face Gholdengo. While the match ends without a conclusive winner, Tina is impressed by how far Lear managed to push Red. Lear appreciates the praise, but remains irritated by the smile on Red's face. Refocusing their attention back on their project, Lear has the player take a group photo of all of them together.

Eventually, the goal of one thousand photos is reached, and a big group of Trainers gathers for the promised party. While Lear presents and praises Gholdengo before everyone, behind the crowd, Sawyer and Rachel reveal to the player and their friends that, in actuality, Lear had arranged the event because Gholdengo is really sociable and wanted lots of friends to play with. With this knowledge in mind, everyone enjoys the party to the fullest. Eventually, when the time comes to conclude the party, Lear thanks everyone for proving the true power of bonds and declares that next time, they'll aim higher by trying to collect photos of ten thousand bonds and hosting an even bigger and grander party to celebrate them.
