Effect
Effect
When Destiny Bond is used, if the user faints as the direct result of an attack, the Pokémon that landed the knockout hit also faints. A Pokémon defeated by this move will faint before the Pokémon which used Destiny Bond. This move's effect only works if the user faints before making another move. If it faints later than that (unless it used this move again), this move's effect will not happen. Destiny Bond does not activate for damage that occurs at the end of the turn, including damage from Leech Seed and Future Sight. In a double battle, both opponents are targeted, but only the one that knocks the user out is affected.
When Destiny Bond is used, until the user moves again, if the user faints as the direct result of an attack the attacking Pokémon also faints. If the user takes another turn (including "inactive" turns such as those spent sleeping or flinching), the effect disappears.

Destiny Bond does not activate from indirect damage such as weather damage, damage from Leech Seed, and Future Sight. Destiny Bond also bypasses Focus Sash, Sturdy, and Magic Guard.

Destiny Bond can affect non-adjacent foes.

Destiny Bond has no effect if an ally causes the user to faint.

Generations II to IV
A Pokémon defeated by this move will faint before the Pokémon that used Destiny Bond.

Destiny Bond can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 8 bonus appeal points if Curse, Endure, or Mean Look was used in the previous turn.

Generations V and VI
A Pokémon defeated by this move will now faint after the Pokémon that used Destiny Bond, meaning that if Destiny Bond is used by the last Pokémon on a player's team, and the last Pokémon on the opposing team makes it faint, the opposing player will win.

Destiny Bond can also be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if any of the moves Encore, Taunt or Torment was used in the prior turn.

Generation VII
Destiny Bond will always fail if it was successfully executed on the previous turn.

If powered up by a Ghostium Z into Z-Destiny Bond, the user becomes the center of attention, forcing all of the opponent's moves to target the user for the turn, if possible.

Generation VIII
If used when Dynamax Pokémon are present on the field, Destiny Bond will fail with the message "The move was blocked by the power of Dynamax!"

Generation IX
In pre-1.2.0 Versions of Scarlet and Violet, if the user Terastallizes the turn after using Destiny Bond, it would fail to make the attacker faint.

A move of huge appeal, but using it prevents the user from taking further contest moves.

Destiny Bond (Japanese: みちづれ Take Along With) is a non-damaging Ghost-type move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

In pre-1.2.0 Versions of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, if the user Terastallizes the turn after using Destiny Bond, it would fail to make the attacker faint.

Destiny Bond inflicts the Destiny Bond status condition on the enemy. Any damage sustained by the user will also be inflicted on the target with this status condition. This includes any self-inflicted damage from recoil. If the move is bounced back, the user will be linked to themselves. In such case, Destiny Bond will trigger if the user hurts themselves from recoil/crash damage, or a different move that was bounced back at the user. The status conditions lasts for 11RBTDS / 6GtISMD turns.
