Klinklang (Japanese: ギギギアル Gigigiaru) is a Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

Biology
Biology
Physiology
Klinklang is a Pokémon resembling four interlocking gears, with six teeth on the smaller two gears and eight teeth on the larger gear. The fourth gear is on its lower side, and is red-topped with a thin, spiked rim below it. The red core is used to store energy gained from the rotating gears. This energy can be released through the spiked gear at the bottom. The teeth of the smaller gears are a light gray, while their central regions are much darker. The teeth of the larger gear are a medium gray and its central region is darker. The left eye of the smaller gear is a white "X", while its right eye has a black pupil and a white sclera. It has a round green nose and a small mouth. The largest gear appears to have a face with a black square for its right eye, a black circle for its left eye, and a sharply angled white frown.
Klinklang mostly resembles its pre-evolution, Klang, except for the additions of a red-topped gear on its lower side and a thin, spiked rim below it.

Gender differences
Dialogue between the two faced gears in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series suggests that both gears are independently sentient from one another. However, the spike gear it gains after evolving is not actually alive. Klinklang's red core is able to contain an enormous amount of energy, which it uses to launch gears as well as powerful blasts of electricity from its spikes.
Klinklang are a genderless species.

Special abilities
Klinklang and its pre-evolved forms are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Gear Grind. Prior to Generation VII, Shift Gear was also one of its signature moves. Its red core gear can spin at high speeds to rapidly charge itself with energy.

Behavior
Evolution
Klinklang charges energy by spinning its red-topped gear and releases it through the spiked gear at the bottom. Its red core functions as an energy tank and if spun at high speed, it will result in a rapid energy change.
Klinklang evolves from Klang and is the final form of Klink.

Major appearances
Klinklang debuted in White—Victini and Zekrom and Black—Victini and Reshiram alongside Klink and Klang; they are all under the ownership of Mannes. He used the three for various tasks, such as powering the music machine at Eindoak Town's Harvest Festival, doing yard work on his property, and powering his helicopter in the climax of the films.

Klinklang made its main series debut in Evolution Exchange Excitement!. It appeared in Chargestone Cave, where it had a pen that was left behind by Cedric Juniper stuck in its gears. The same Klinklang later appeared in a flashback in Battling the Bully!, when it was revealed that the Sunglasses Krokorok had accidentally thrown the pen into its gears.

Minor appearances
A Klinklang appeared in a flashback in Explorers of the Hero's Ruin!.

In Team Eevee and the Pokémon Rescue Squad!, two Klinklang were used by Virgil's family to power two separate helicopters. One of them reappeared in Curtain Up, Unova League! and Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening.

In Genesect and the Legend Awakened, a Klinklang was on a television monitor.

* Klinklang and its evolutionary relatives are the only pure Steel Pokémon related by evolution.
* Despite being gender unknown, Klinklang is referred to as a male in the PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond PokéPad entry.
* Klinklang and its evolutionary relatives are the only non-Electric Pokémon able to learn ThunderShock.
* Klinklang is the only rentable Pokémon to use a move twice as an opponent in Dynamax Adventures.
* Klinklang is the same height as its pre-evolution.
* The idea for Klinklang's evolutionary line came from Ken Sugimori, while the designs were done by Keiko Moritsugu.

Origin
Origin
Klinklang is based on interlocking gears, more specifically a combination of sun and planet gears, a bevel gear and an Gear#External vs. internal gears. The Klink line's Shiny coloration may have been based on copper gears, as their noses have turned green as copper does when it oxidizes into such compounds as copper carbonate, forming a  patina.
Klinklang is based on interlocking gears, perhaps specifically a combination of sun and planet gears, a bevel gear, and an Gear#External vs internal gears. Its appearance may also be based on a balance wheel. The red core of one of the wheels could be a reference to the jewel bearing in mechanical watches, which are often made out of ruby.

Name origin
Name origin
Klinklang is derived from clink and clang, both of which its pre-evolutions are named after. Gigigiaru is probably derived from ギア gia (gear).
Klinklang may be a combination of Klink and Klang, which in turn resemble clink and clang (onomatopoeias for metal striking a surface).

Gigigiaru may be derived from ギア gear, with the first syllable repeated twice.

Klinklang (Japanese: ギギギアル Gigigiaru) is a Steel-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves from Klang starting at level 49. It is the final form of Klink.

Biology

Dialogue between the two faced gears in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series suggests that both gears are independently sentient from one another.[1] However, the spike gear it gains after evolving is not actually alive. Klinklang's red core is able to contain an enormous amount of energy, which it uses to launch gears as well as powerful blasts of electricity from its spikes.

Klinklang and its pre-evolved forms are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Gear Grind. Prior to Generation VII, Shift Gear was also one of its signature moves. Its red core gear can spin at high speeds to rapidly charge itself with energy.

Evolution

Klinklang evolves from Klang and is the final form of Klink.

Klinklang in the anime

Trophy information

NA: This Pokémon evolves in the following order: Klink, Klang, and finally Klinklang. I wonder what it would be called if it evolved again... Klinklangklung? The noise from that Pokémon would be unbearable! Anyway, Klinklang's small, red center gear will spin at high speeds when it's charging up energy.

PAL: From Klink to Klang to Klinklang, this Pokémon gets noisier with each evolution! It has a nice ring to it, though. Maybe all Pokémon should be named this way! Abra, Kadabra, Abrakadabra? Gible, Gabite...Gigabite? Err...Moving on! When it charges up energy, Klinklang spins the small cog with the red core at very high speeds.

Trivia

Origin

Klinklang is based on interlocking gears,[2] perhaps specifically a combination of sun and planet gears, a bevel gear, and an external gear. Its appearance may also be based on a balance wheel. The red core of one of the wheels could be a reference to the jewel bearings in mechanical watches, which are often made out of ruby.

Name origin

Klinklang may be a combination of Klink and Klang, which in turn resemble clink and clang (onomatopoeias for metal striking a surface).

Gigigiaru may be derived from ギア gear, with the first syllable repeated twice.
