==Biology==
==Biology==
Gothita is a small, humanoid Pokémon. A small tuft of hair sticks up from the top of its head, and it has two white, bow-shaped feelers on each side of its purple head, and a third bow-shaped feeler on its neck. These ribbon-like feelers are used to amplify its psychic power. It has two large blue eyes with three eyelashes on each and small red lips. Gothita intently observes those around it, and can become unaware of attacks. Its torso is black with a white zigzagging line running horizontally through the middle. Its arms and legs are short and stubby with no visible digits.

==In the anime==
Gothita intently observes those around it, looking at something only it can see. It can become so focused that it ends up being unaware of attacks. Gothita are normally known to be innocent. It is usually quiet, but sometimes it makes muted cries, even when alone. This is believed to be Gothita communicating with invisible beings.

Gothita seems to be based on a child dressed in {{wp|Lolita fashion#Gothic Lolita|Gothic lolita}} fashion and the common trope to associate goth girls with magical powers or {{wp|witch}}es. The Gothic lolita fashion itself is highly influenced by the {{wp|Victorian clothing|fashion from the Victorian period of the United Kingdom}} and also by styles from the {{wp|Rococo}} period, the Rococo being an artistic movement born in the 18th century in France, that later spreaded to other parts of {{wp|Europe}} and the colonial {{wp|Americas}}.

Gothita (Japanese: ゴチム Gothimu) is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves into Gothorita starting at level 32, which evolves into Gothitelle starting at level 41.

Biology

Gothita is a small, humanoid Pokémon. A small tuft of hair sticks up from the top of its purple head, and it has two white, bow-shaped feelers on each side of the head and a third bow-shaped feeler on its neck. These ribbon-like feelers are used to amplify Gothita's psychic power, and will cause Gothita to cry if touched. It has two large blue eyes with three eyelashes on each and small red lips. Its torso is black with a white zigzagging line running horizontally through the middle. Its arms and legs are short and stubby with no visible digits.

Evolution

Gothita evolves into Gothorita, which evolves into Gothitelle.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Trivia

  • Gothita can be seen as a parallel to Solosis. Both are Generation V Psychic-type Pokémon evolving once at level 32 and then again at level 41. Gothita is exclusive to Pokémon Black, Black 2, and Sword, while Solosis is exclusive to Pokémon White, White 2, and Shield. They both have the same base experience and catch rates, gain new moves at similar levels and have base stat totals of 290.

Origin

Gothita seems to be based on a child dressed in Gothic lolita fashion and the common trope to associate goth girls with magical powers or witches. The Gothic lolita fashion itself is highly influenced by the fashion from the Victorian period of the United Kingdom and also by styles from the Rococo period, the Rococo being an artistic movement born in the 18th century in France, that later spreaded to other parts of Europe and the colonial Americas.

Name origin

Gothita may be a contraction of Gothic lolita.

Gothimu may be a combination of Gothic and 予知夢 yochimu (precognitive dream).
