Minccino is a furry, gray-colored chinchilla Pokémon, sporting scruffs of fur on its head, ear insides, and neck. Minccino's large ears, located to the sides of its head, have red insides partly covered by the aforementioned tufts of fur there. Its eyes are large and brown, with a small, dot-like nose. Its limbs are somewhat rounded and small, and its tail is long and particularly furry.
Minccino is a furry, gray chinchilla-like {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} with scruffs of fur on its head and neck. It has large ears on the sides of its head, with red insides partly covered by tufts of fur. It has large, brown eyes and a small, dot-like nose. Its limbs are somewhat rounded and small, and its ears and tail have white tips. The tail is also long and particularly furry. This tail acts like a broom or mop, as Minccino uses it to clean its den. Minccino also uses the tail to brush others of its species as a form of greeting; the one with the fluffier tail will be more prideful. It has a fondness for shiny objects and prefers clean habitats, and it is obsessed with cleaning dirty items. Minccino always keeps its tail clean; when it gets dirty, Minccino will wash it in clean spring water.

====Gender differences====
Prior to [[Generation VIII]], {{m|Tail Slap}} was its [[signature move]], but other Pokémon could still inherit it via {{pkmn|breeding}}.
None.

Minccino (Japanese: チラーミィ Chillarmy) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves into Cinccino when exposed to a Shiny Stone.

Biology

Minccino cleaning

Minccino is a furry, gray chinchilla-like Pokémon with scruffs of fur on its head and neck.

Prior to Generation VIII, Tail Slap was its signature move, but other Pokémon could still inherit it via breeding.

Evolution

Minccino evolves into Cinccino.

(For specifics on this Pokémon's Evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

Major appearances

Bianca's Minccino

Bianca's Minccino debuted in Minccino—Neat and Tidy!, where he was initially a wild Pokémon. After he stole Ash's new Badge case in order to clean it, Bianca caught him.

Other

In PK22, a Minccino would frequently Sing, causing Meowth and Team Rocket's other Pokémon to fall asleep, which would make it angry and puff up, much like the roles of Jigglypuff and Marill.

In There's a New Gym Leader in Town!, multiple Minccino were scared by the loud intercom at Cheren's Trainers' School.

Trivia

  • The Poké Toy item is based on Minccino's tail.
  • It is possible for the Minccino that appears in the "world of Pokémon" intro in Pokémon Black and White to be Shiny.
  • Minccino and its evolved form were designed by Atsuko Nishida, and almost no changes were made to her original designs. They were intended to be parallels of Kanto's Clefairy and Clefable; Pokémon that everyone would think was cute. Nishida was hired specifically for her reputation in Game Freak for her skill in designing cute characters.[1]
  • Minccino is the only Pokémon to be part of the "world of Pokémon" intro that evolves in its games' sequel, evolving into Cinccino between the events of Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.

Origin

Minccino seems to be based on a chinchilla. Its tail may be based on feather dusters or brooms, as they use their tails to clean their dens.

Name origin

Minccino may be a combination of mini (referring to its miniature size), mink (an animal known for its fur and its use in women's clothing), or mint (pristine condition), and chinchilla or chino cloth. The suffix -ino or -cino is also a diminutive to denote something small.

Chillarmy may be a combination of chinchilla and charming.
